Hi everyone I have another question...

I am just overlooking my paperwork and making sure everything has been done correctly. If I fill out the use of a representative form for my husband's generic app and put myself as the representative, CIC should be able to talk to me regarding his portion of the app correct? Let know if I'm wrong. Also, if I put my email on his contact information page, will they email me if/when they need anything? I have heard stories of CIC in Jamaica sending the applicants (person to be sponsored) mail or a letter and it being returned weeks later because it sat at the local post office without the the person knowing. What would happen? I would assume that they would email me if I put my email under his contact info?

Any experience....
this is exactly what I had done . I helped my husband with his and I had the use of representation form completed and sent in because I know once they read through our application they would realize that I had rewrote it all because he originally wrote it all in patois lol ... With my husband we didn't use a email address... And Cic Kingston has never responded to anything in regards to my husband everything was always mailed to me or emailed to me .. It doesn't hurt to have the form filled out especially if your helping him .. And I do have my husband check his mail once a week in case of anything ...

oh and I also forgot to add your correct if you have that form filled out Cic will correspond with you if you email or make inquires on his behalf , atleast they did in my case and I had the form filled out .. With that being said if you want to order CAIPS notes later on in the processing the use of representation form doesn't give you consent to do that .. That u need a different consent for but that you don't have to focus on now .. Good luck

ok everyone have a point, for me i put proceed i did both my wife she's sponsor and my paper, one of the thing i was worrying about is that she outstanding student loan, but she was approved. what they are really looking for is that the person or persons you are sponsoring won't go on welfare. if you are working have a place that is a plus my wife stay with her adopted mother she wrote a letter for her state i am going to stay with her for awhile.
outstanding loans don't matter .. All hat matters is that she is not collecting welfare from the government or she hasn't claimed bankruptcy ..

@ Paula_T... Thanks for the info. I will be putting my email on his application and filling out that use of a representative form. I would hate to know that something is sitting somewhere and he has no knowledge. I also fully know what you mean regarding him filling out the forms lol I had to do it all over again and make him sign

you and me both! I keep telling my husband if they interview us maybe it will move quicker.
our application still just says - Application Received
really? 3 1/2 months at the VO and no one is looking at our file? WOW

I know that it is probably not the case but I know for a fact they need his FBI report and have not asked for it.
I sent a copy of it at the beginning of August - but know they need the original - therefore they haven't even looked at his file to see the original is missing..... GGGGRRRRRR

trying to stay positive

If they need the original, send it in before they ask for it. If they have to ask for it, it will go back into the ""bring forward" pile and they wont look at your file again for 60 days, whether they know they have received it or not.
This is information that I received from my MP, so be proactive. The 3.5 months waiting for it to even be looked at doesnt surprise me at all. They are so slow, and love to waste people's time. I swear its out of spite.
