Happy New Year to you all!!! :D...Anybody hear anything from POS? Any status change? They have had hubby's pp since Dec. 2...Im really trying NOT to send them another email...The last email I received from them (on dec. 16) stated that my hubby's file "will be finalized within 10 business days". So I thought by now I would hear back from them or did they just tell me that to shut me up ::)...Did they tell anybody else the same thing?

Don't be discouraged! 10 business days hasn't passed yet (or just barely passed Friday -- Depending on their holiday schedule). Business days don't count holidays, so what SHOULD be 2 weeks, easily turns into 3 :( I'm sure you will hear something this week, and we can't wait to hear too :)

Hey Everyone - remember me?! :P Things have been such a crazy whirlwind over the holidays that i haven't had much time to come on here!

Congrats to everyone who has had PPR/DM/LANDED etc! --- still waiting on your news THOR, hoping you had a BLAST with hubby and that this will all be over soon for you --- xoxoxo!

Mr. P started his job today!!! He was so excited!! I hope he's getting along good! He's LOVING the weather -- what a newbie ;) ;D.

Weird thing though, when we got to PEI we went to get his SIN card - and there is this 'new system' for getting SINs now and the paperwork we had was part of the 'old' system and so they said they would have to refer our request to the head office ( this was Dec 4 or 5) and they would mail it to us in a week or so and WE STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT! We can't even open a bank account for him without this, so we've been told. We went back last Monday to reapply for an Urgent request because he needs it for work, and still nothing...not even a phone call to give us the numbers...so annoying. It would be nuts if we got the PR card before his SIN lol!

Anyway, this isn't really phasing us after all we've gone through to be together, that's for sure! Mr. P is settling in so well, he's loving being here. He passed his Written Drivers test with a 92 and he was PUMPED! He will be doing the driving test end of this month...Wish him luck!

Shoutout to my girls - you know who you are!!! xoxoxo :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Happy New Year everyone!

Dec 30th has come and gone so perhaps a short landing story:) Hubby arrived on Dec 30th (at 1am) and life has been amazing ever since. He has fit right in to life although I have been on vacation so the real test will be this week. Even the smallest things are amazing though - like going grocery shopping last night and having him cook supper for me while I watch the hockey game!! So far the cold hasn't bothered him too much although he does wear a lot of clothes - both inside and outside. It was weird waking up this morning to go to work with him beside me. I didn't know if I should wake him or just get into the shower (I opted to just get into the shower and he informed me that I should have woke him - I figure that will change by the end of the week). Overall, I count my blessings every morning because it just feels so wonderful.

One unfortunate thing is when hubby landed in Toronto, the immigration officer processed his paperwork and handed everything back to him inside his passport. When he picked up his bags and went to leave he handed his entire passport to the Customs officer. After getting to security he took out his passport and his COPR was gone. He tried to go back but couldn't by this point (he assumes the Customs officer took it). So we have made many phone calls with both CIC and CBS and got nowhere. His COPR is gone. So we have to apply for a Verification of Status before he can get a SIN and do all the things he needs (bank account, MSI, etc). Which sucks. BIG TIME. Anyway, at least for this waiting game we are together. Good reminder to all though to tell your hubby to guard that COPR with their lives!!

Good luck to all those still waiting - I hope you hear something soon!

Ok the SIN card thing is crazy!!! Why is it so different in PEI??? All it is now is a piece of paper with the number on it. Hopefully he gets it soon

Glad to hear things are going great and he's got a job. The snow pics of him make me laugh! My hubby is the same

The SIN is a federal number so it shouldn't be any different from one Province to another to apply - it was super easy (took about 15 mins) in Ontario! Our government is f@&ked - so very frustrating for you Mrs. P! They gave my hubby the piece of paper and told him to never lose it - seriously!? My parents have had their SIN cards for 45 years - do they really think a piece of paper is going to last that long or not get lost in that period of time!

Same in Quebec, we went this morning and he received his SIN right on the spot...it took 10 minutes, there was nobody b4 us!

Hey! Yeah, it was ridiculous! However! We got home from work and it was in the mailbox! Thank God! Right in time for him to fill out the Tax forms he brought home from work to sign! haha!

He loved his first day - he said its the same work, different place and with better tools! So that's excellent! I overheard him talking to his "BFF" in JA and he said "the only difference between us is that dey are white and I'm black! HAHA!" I'm so glad he fits right in :D

@sammy - he was scraping off the car and comes back in and says " we need a bigger scraper - that took forever!" I keep joking around saying I need to get a baby book and start writing down all of HIS firsts!! haha!

Congrats maty!! So glad he's home safe and sound and that you are together for the minor mess ups now! ;) :D

Agreeed! don't know why they aren't giving cards anymore! I was like you need to memorize this number and hide this paper for safe keeping...and a little bit later he was like Ok look at this - and hands me his paper and I looked at him puzzled and he was like 'mi gonna recite he' - he took me very serioulsy and memorized it on the spot lol!
