I got to experience last night the whole "I am Jamaican, hear me roar" and "Jamaica is my home and NOBODY including my WIFE can make me leave" and also the wonderful "I will NEVER change to suit a different society. NEVER! And if any people don't like it, them can go s*ck their muda”
Please note that this all stemmed from me telling him the landing story and asking him how he feels about leaving Jamaica and to be very honest about it.... and so the rant began. The entire time he was ranting, I sat quietly just staring at him (we were Skyping). Once he finally became quiet, he looked back and me and said “what?! Gwan, seh sumn about it.” I just kept looking at him until he finally broke out laughing and admitted that he just relistened to that entire conversation in his head and realized how he sounded.
We then went forward with him apologizing to me and him being more understanding and asking about how often we will travel and is he able to call home as soon as he arrives in Canada to let his mother know he has arrived safe and so on and so forth.

C&T, all I could do was repeat in my head “don't take it personal, don't take it personal” lol

The good news is, he is FINALLY opening up about his fears and anxieties about leaving the only place he has ever known. This man actually thought I was going to drop him in Canada and just leave him to fend for himself. I couldn't believe it!!!! I am his only person in Canada. Me and my family, is he insane! But I do understand his fears now because of your landing story.

I know I have ranted and vented a bit today, but I am wanting people to know that just because other people like to pretend their marriage is a bed of roses, lets be honest, we all have our thorns and that's what makes it worth it in the end.

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED!!!! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Wow - I know what you mean. My hubby finally raised his fears for leaving also...mostly because he's the backbone for his family (mother and younger siblings) so he's worried about their wellbeing when he leaves. We spoke and he knows that coming here isn't a black box lol we can definitely make trips and I'm all for helping his family out because I love them like crazy!

Thankfully - he also has family here whom I'm close to and meet/chill with frequently...I'm hoping that having a piece of home here helps in the transition.

Yes, that was also a fear for my husband as he is also the backbone of his family. So we sat down and realistically set out a plan and he immediately calmed down realizing that I see things the exact same way that he does and that I am doing my best to understand.

I already know that as soon as soon as we are able to fly, I want to bring him back home so that he can see how easy it is to go if he's feeling homesick.... Canada is a big beautiful world full of love and opportunities and as Canadians, we are always happy to help our family as long as they are also willing to help themselves if they can.

Crazy silly introverted husbands! :P ::)

;) Thanks for the good wishes frankfield.....I almost referenced some of your prior posts on here about how things are not always a bed of roses!! Actually when I was in Trinidad with hubby I read your posts about how couples fight and I was tempted to add my own. Let's just say my bags got packed 3 times to leave early, twice by me and once by hubby!!! :P By the grace of God, we worked it out, thankfully.

Many blessings and by the way I have appreciated your unique perspectives in some of your posts on several occasions.

Most welcome CDNandTrini. My intention is for us to keep it real..not discourage others. Share what we can, be it good or bad within limits of course. Once we recognize the ups and down, pitfall etc we have a fighting chance on making it forever. I can totally understand the part about packing the bags to leave early..been there lol. Wow, what a roller coaster ride. Just pray we all come off this ride dizzy but still holding our partners hand. All the best in your journey toward euphoria.

Happy Thursday everyone! Well its Christmas here in the office :) even got a couple "santa" gifts. I just love Christmas! with all the lights and food mmm mmm mmm. My co worker and I did 3 day detox cleanse of home vegetable. Wow talk about will power with all the Christmas treats and chocolate in the office lol But I am done and feeling great.

Well get to leave in 4 days yay! and 6 days till I see my hubby can't wait. He's looking into buying a car right now so this can mean bye bye to car rentals :) one less cost when I am there. Well I really hope Kingston gives us some good news before tomorrow afternoon. Doesn't look like they gave us any good news this week her on the forum :(

Hello my dearest Kadi and thank you for that :-*!! Of course I cannot leave the POS & JA folks - we must stand united in the face of those dismal processing times posted for both of our VOs. Although it was very enlightening to me to read the stats posted recently by another member (scotchy) re: the volume of applicants in family class through Kingston. So CIC - GIVE THEM MORE HELP IN JA!!!!!! :o

How are you making out missing your bambino? Thinking of you for that and praying for fast processing on your file. Many blessings

Oh Boy my bambino is out of sight out of mind C&T; I skype him in the afternoons but he is too busy having fun ;D

I am a wreck without him but the sacrifices we have to make during this process; so I am hanging in there ;)

Thanks for your prayers hun :)

This does not apply to anyone in particular on this forum, I simply saw it, and because I am a strong and firm believer in keeping it real, thought I would share.

Remember everyone, it only hurts when it's the truth. So if something that's said hurts you, it's because deep down, you know it to be true.

I love every single one of you for different reasons as you have all brought something special into my life. :-*

Hello everyone hope all is well. My husband and I are thinking of adopting a baby girl preferable anywhere under a year old but will take a two year old if anything. I figure if I'm going to be here another year I don't want to waist anymore time, I want to feel accomplished in some way.

I got the forms online today but I just wanted to ask O&O if there was a fee to do the adoption and if it was a Hassel? I know what you did was sort of different though.

Thank you.

Quiet week . I'm sorry for all those waiting for their passports or their PPR
