I am not surprised at this at all.... alot of ppl think "money grows on trees" in Foreign... yes we may have access to more oppertunity (education, jobs) etc... but it takes hard work.

My husband thinks like this!! He has never left Jamaica and no matter how many times I try and tell him he just doesn't understand. Last night he asked me how long it would take for him to save a million dollars. Even though I love that he dreams big, realistically he will have to win the lottery to have a million dollars! He told me that was a little bit of money in Canada.
He also doesn't think we should have a mortgage and that we should save up until we can pay for a home. I told him we will be near retirement before that will happen and in the meantime we have paid thousands of dollars in rent!
I am not sure how else I can explain things to him. I suppose until he is here he won't fully understand!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!

Thank you Nev and Maddants and Chikie
half hour after my last post i calmed a bit and decided to e-mail kingston
I let them know when we did our last medical and asked if we needed another this was at 10 pm Canada time
The next morning at 8 am they contacted my husband and told him no medical was needed just bring in his passport
So he had it deliverd to the embassy by dhl today !!!!

Thank the Lord. I'm glad you were proactive and sensitive with your contact. I truly believe that a gentle approach works the best.
Congratulations, you will be together very soon.

Just got approved to go down to Jamaica in April 2014! hoping that I wont have to use this time to go to Jamaica that hubby will already be here with me in January and we can go somewhere together in April! ;D

I have to plan my holidays so far ahead because of my co workers we all book time and cant all be off at the same time.

He won't realize until he gets to Canada it's all to do with the currency and understanding how society operates. He will get the picture once he starts working.

Good morning to all, glad to know that there are aleats two wives in Ja waiting ;D that is also on the forum I live in Kingston anyone lives in Kingston. Wof I have tears in my eyes I know what you meant that this can affect your children my kids are smart and during all this process I was hiding stuff from them about there filing reason I wanted them to stay focus in school until the time came, but when I took them to the embassy on the day of the interview I couldn't hide it again cause my little 7yr old once we get there she read out loud and clear Canadian Embassy with smiles she says mum are we going to Canada soon,my reply was very soon hun she asked are going to get the visa now I could only say I hope so baby my son is 14 so he knows whats going on and trust me they ask questions they are anxious too so it does have a big effect on the kids, cause whenever my husband talks to them and he will say he cant wait for them to come and see them soon my big son will its taking soo long. Wof I wish you guys could take to the tv station are the papers can someon arrange for a journalist to do a article about husbands and wives that are been waiting for there filing to Cdn am gonna try to find my friend to see if she could print an article in the sunday gleaner we all have to do something.Another thing that pisses me off how can immigration stay in there offices look at a bunch of papers and assume what is real from what is not why don't they spend there money and get private investigators to follow us, then they can prove our love for each other.
Thank you Jahdes...I think if a whole whack of people can go on the Maury Povich show and take lie detector test to prove that they're wives/husbands are not cheating on them...why couldnt they have a lie detector test for Immigration purposes...I mean how can you prove physically that you can put on paper to actually prove your love for your children and you wife/husband...You can only give them so much...this keeps running in our minds..the best we can do wich we didnt do the first time out is have friends, family and Rev and Police officer write a letter on our behalf and have in noterized...we also are sending digicel phone records for the 10 years...since he doesnt have all the good stuff like computer smart phones..I dont even have a cell...so its going to hard but we are GOING to do it!!!

Good morning! I am home back in Canada, and wish Maddants could be here with me. But that is how life is, we just have to live with the way things are. I just saw this article this morning. This is another story about what makes things bad for this process. Just wanted to share this with you. Take care everyone!

Welcome home, Akiikwe!

Hopefully Maddants isn't too far behind you!

The CBC article is one more example of how the fraudulent cases are approved (more than once in this instance!) while the genuine relationships suffer.

Good morning JamFam,

Welcome home Mrs. Maddants! Glad you had an amazing time with Maddants. It is funny how the time in between seeing one another is like 2 days for every one day and when you are together the time flies by. I know he will be here soon with the rest of the 2012 clan.

WOF...Happy Happy Anniversary!!! Wishing you and Mr. WOF a Blessed Anniversary!!! You have to share...11 years is a long time especially under these circumstances. I am only approaching 2 years in marriage and I tell yuh if it were not for prayer and having faith long distance and separation really take a toll on long distance relationships. Lets not add the naysayers.

Mrs Mine Congratulations!!! You are going to have an extra special Christmas I can feel it. Did you send an itinerary with your husband's passport? Just asking I know they ask for it sometimes and from what I have read they have actually processed the visa much faster.

Chickie72...that new trainee must have been all up under you...lol! I hope it was for one week only. You have been surely missed!!!

Forum Fam...Have a wonderful weekend.

Stay Sweet as Always!!!

DG

I just wanted to add to Mrs. Maddants read. It is funny how every other class is mentioned and special consideration is given. I guess they believe that marriages can stand the test of time.
