Curious what our knowledgeable members know about this one.
Reading somewhere else, if you checked off yes that your spouse has
attempted to get a TVP before applying spousal that it puts your file a month or two behind so
they can check out the reasons why.... Ok, they want your spouse to
get to know your customs and lifestyle... deny most of the TVP and then
punish you for trying????? Anybody with knowledge on this one?

Hello Mrs. Davis, that is a perception that some people have; however, I have yet to see any facts or statistics to back it up. My personal experience, my husband and I were refused 4 times over the course of our relationship (before we were married) and it did not have an impact on our PR application at all. Depending on the case, sometimes the TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) refusals can be seen as more proof of a couple's genuine intentions to try and be together. Lastly, these things must be declared as CIC has records of them anyway and to misrepresent this fact on an application can, in and of itself be grounds for refusal. Hope that helps. Blessings.

Thanks for your response CDnandTrini!! I do feel better.... Just read it on a different thread and had me wondering
Yes we did check off the box that we had attempted a TVP and too got denied several years back. The person had
said on the other thread for every box you check yes was another delay... That's why I ask these questions. The knowledge
on this thread is abundant.... Thanks again!!!

You are most welcome Mrs. D. I have a hunch on whose posts you maybe referring to :D.......but do not let your boat get rocked by one person's opinion/experience. It is actually quite normal for the Cdn. spouse/partner to try and have their loved one visit us for some of the exact reasons you mentioned. Of course we want our spouse/partner to meet our families, see our homes, understand our culture, lifestyle etc. If I recall correctly most of us currently on the POS and Kingston threads have been denied TRVs so you are in good company! Blessings.

has anyone sent money with Money Gram before?

Carm I send money all the time with money gram. For us to send it, if you get one of tier rewards cards, it's cheaper. The exchange rate is same most of the time was western union. Also you can get an email or text alert when the money is picked up. Only time I use western union is if I don't have time to go to a money gram place

Also I should mention if you have the rewards card there is NO need I fill out any paper work. You give them the number and all the info is in their system

9 people from the 2nd half of 2012-if you haven't started to look at their apps yet......pick them up for review!

Come on, we need to catch up with the POS thread.....call it the competitiveness in us but right now we are way behind them! Catch us up!

Stay encouraged all of our JA friends and remember:

Oh gosh! I don't even remember this question on the application asking if my husband had applied for a trv before. :s
Ugh. Something else to worry about now. Maybe I missed something. Bahhh!

Great words of inspiration. Which are totally needed right now to keep me going.

Much love.

Maybe not as bad...

The Canadian government and striking diplomats have reached a “tentative” agreement. PAFSO, the union representing the diplomats, says it “has ordered an immediate suspension of all strike measures and work to rule.”

Good Morning Jam Fam;

I am here from time to time but this is usually my busiest time of year at work.

But I love the positivity ;D; Chickie, O&O keep it up.

All 2012 applicants I really wish your files are PPR ready and just in a queue waiting for someone to make a call.

Sammy this sounds awesome ;)

Wow POS is really on fire, my cousins husband from Grenada applied in March and he got PPR last week; makes me wonder if Kingston needs more help to handle their backlog or their office is disorganised and demotivated.

It's really sad.

But lets's keep our positive thinking; I am still confident that they will start showering us with PPRs this month.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

Great news. My husband got a phone call about 2 hrs ago from Kingston about his medicals. They wanted him to bring a copy of his medical receipt down to the Kingston office or send a copy by email. They said that they needed this to finish processing his file. I asked my husband again if those were the words they said an he said yes. Remember last week they couldn't find the medicals so now I guess after the emails I sent they are working on his file. So I emailed them with a copy scanned within 5 mins of him getting off the phone with them.

He was so excited thinking this was the call he told me but when he found out it was just for the medical receipt he was a little sad. Then got excited again when they said they needed it to finish working on his file!!!!

So I guess maybe this means we are in process??? Ecas of course has no updates
great news on hearing from them, at least you can get this sorted out so they can move on with your application!
