Morning Akiikwe! :D

I'm happy to read you are going to see Maddants. We can't wait and plan our trips around when we think our immigration journey may end. If you have the time and money, then I say go! And if you don't -- call in sick and max the credit card!!!! (Kidding!) Life is too short for us to give all of the power/control to CIC!

Enjoy your trip and time with Maddants!

Maybe you will be returning home to Canada together!!!!

Thanks you Nevaeha, I surely hope that this will happen! In need of getting away from the stress that has been happening at work.

Good morning my friends :)

Nev have a wonderful time in JA...stay safe..and dont over due the "endorphins"...lol Um yeah right, YOU GO GURL!!! I am so craving some breadfruit, yam and some saltfish and callalou, cane...Mmmmm Can you tell I'm missing Jamaica??? I have never tried to bring anything back...how hard is it to bring back fruit and fish?..I brought back some of that canned process cheese for the kids but thats it...aslong as you declare it, is it usually pretty easy????

waitingonforever. I have brought coffee back and some spices, but I never tried fruit. I would like to try and bring some cane back, maybe I will ask them at the airport when I arrive there and find out what I am allowed. I surely would like my family to try some.

Hey I have brought back roasted bread fruit, fried fish and patties anything cooked is fine. They took away my peppers and ginger I think anything that could have soil on it they take. the only hassle is declaring it then you have to have further searching and then you run into the whole why do you go to Jamaica so often?? Why you Travelling by yourself ??? It can be annoying to take stuff back.

I bring back something every single time. This time it was 2 dozen sweets sop. June plumb. Ackee. And five lb of fish. Before I have brought mangos from my trees that I send my husband up to get. I've brought back guinnep, tamarind, breadfruit, clean raw frozen Bonita fish. I asked a lady that was clearing me, what's okay and what's not okay. She basically said. Anything that's a root is a no no. And any plants because you can transplant them in Canada. The peppers would have been taken because you can catch their seeds Very eAsily.

I always know exactly how many lbs or quantity I am coming with. And declare everything very accurately. I have never had a problem. And nothing has. Ever been taken awaY from me.

I took the time to get my nexus card. It's a trusted traveller system that is run by homeland security in the USA. But you can use it when entering back into Canada. I use it every time I come home and I haven't been bothered by customs since. It is excellent. Although it is 50 bucks to get (well worth the money) it DOES take 6 months to process it. You apply online. It is an extensive application. Probably took 30- 45 mins to fill out for me. You have to go back to every place you have lived since 18 and every job u had in the last 10 years.

I would do it over again if I had to. also saves time on cross border shopping. ;)

Hi folks, does anyone know if we can take canned tuna overseas? For some reason in Trinidad they do not have any of the "white" tuna anymore and that is my mother-in law's fave. If anyone knows, please let me know. Blessings.

I tAke it all the time. It might be specific to country though. But I've never seen anywhere where u couldn't take it. If you can't. The worst that can happen ? Customs officers have nice chunk white tuna for lunch that day!! :P

Well probably they extended it without telling you and they are waiting for the response before sending PPR. It takes a few weeks apparently.

Who do they request the extension from ? The doctor that did the medical? How would anyone else know the person is "fit" enough for the extension.
