We had similar problem-- my husband did his medical in February in Kingston. Then they found a lesion on his rib (often can be TB) so Immigration Doctor, sent all the medical to immigration. We followed up with a Cario Thoriac specialist and husband was operated on in March in UWI Hospital in Kingston. They removed the rib and the tumor on the rib (it wasa not TB, but was a TUMOR instead) Then Immigration sent him a letter end of April that he needed to go back to immigration dr. He went back to Dr, who wrote a letter that it was not TB and that my husband (the patient ) had followed up with surgery and specialist. In May, the ECAS changed showing MEdical Recieved, but there has been nothing since then.

In the meantime, he needs more medical woprk done, and it is too expensive in Jamaica. Surgery and medicine cost nearly 3000.00 Canadian. Hopeing he gets here soon, because he has been referred to have an MRi and that is 850.00 Canadian. Pray for him to soon come!

Thanks

Joanne

Hello everyone I am new to the forum and wondering if anyone can give me some advice. My husband and my step son did their medical at the office in montego bay July 9. On August 12 a lady from kingston call my husband and told him that they received the medical results for his son however his medical file is blank. (They receive his file but when they open it its empty and the results aren't displayed).

She was gonna email the medical office and get back to him. So its been over a month and still no word on it. ( I found out medicals are sent fron the doctors to Ottawa and then from there to visa offices. I asume that's where things got messed up because the doctor say they send everything to ottawa.)
Has anyone here ever experience this or know anyonr who has. How long does it usualy take to sort out such a mess.. thanks
good evening girlfromja welcome to our little waiting room where we sit back and chill while waiting out this long process! I have never heard of that happening before, have u contacted the dr who did the medical to see if Kingston got ahold of them? It will be easier to get the answer from them then trying Kingston because they haven't been answering emails lately. If not then then try cic in Mississauga and see if they can tell u anything. Good luck and blessings

I called the dr and they were the ones who told me how Medicals are handled. They don't send Medicails to Kingston. All medical reports go to Ottawa and then Ottawa send it to different visa offices around the world. Did some online digging and found out that to be truth. So the dr sent all the medical reports to Ottawa. The file must have been lost between Ottawa and Kingston.

Also..... Was reluctant to type this on here but here goes. I emailed kingston regarding an update about 2 weeks ago and the same lady called my husband and was less than happy about the email I sent. She told him that she has a lot of files on her desk and could have put it at the bottom of the pile . I was so pissed when he told me what she said but have to realize that truly they had the power and we have none.

So hence my reluctance to email them again. It seems if you piss them off the dump your file at the bottom fi real and screw you over.

So now we just sitting waaaaiiiiitttttinnng ........ Driving me crazy not knowing what the hell they up to and the delays caused by someone incompetence. And can't do a damn thing but wait.

wow that is crazy. Can the dr not resend it again?

Wow I really don't know what to say about the phone call u got but I try my hardest not to email Kingston at all. I have seen the wrath they pull down on others who email too much and truly they hold our lives in their hands and it is best just to let Kingston do their thing! Truly they can get more done in a day on our apps if they didn't have to answer so many emails! I understand that we all want to know what is going on but weigh the positives against the negatives and it is better just to let them do their jobs then to bother them. With email

Dr said they don't keep copy so my husband would have to redo it..........it's really screwed up.

@ Nevaeha......its crazy i tell you. i was so mad .

@ chickie.........Agreed about the emails.......hard to sit it out but getting too nosey makes matters worst it seems.

Guess I should take comfort that she actually bothered to call him 3times lol. One time she even left him a voicemail.

Compilation of Landing Experiences

Dear forum members,

I have just created a thread titled
Compilation of Landing Experiences

This is for the purpose of setting our expectation right on what we can expect in our initial days in Canada.
This wealth of information is scattered throughout the forum and I thought it would be useful if I could post them in one place.
Please note that this is work in progress. (I guess it will always be)

Here is the link:

Thanks for your prayers and your support. Is that 20 months from filing the original application, or is that 20 months from when it shows on ECAS that medicals were received? :-X

I often wonder what they are doing down there.

Hi Josephine;

I will definitely stay prayed up for you and your husband. God is holding your hand and will comfort you both during this time.

I really hope they have the heart to respond to you.

!!!!FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!

Today is going to be lucky for someone! :D
