Good Morning!
Now that my sponsorship has been approved and our application has been sent to Kingston, I am wondering what the process is.
I have been asked by people, "why does the application have to be sent to Kingston?" and honestly, I am not sure. I do know that once everything is processed, that they put the Visa in his passport but that is about it. Are they checking on the genuine nature of our relationship?
Also, is there anyway to track that our application was sent and received in Kingston and do I continue to track the status of our application on the CIC website?
Any information would be helpful!
Thanks...enjoy your Monday!

good afternoon. Once your application gets to Kingston they are supposed to send you an AOR also to let u know that it is there, but I have been here over a year and no one has ever gotten one. My suggestion would be to send them an email in about a month and just ask what the status is on your application and if they received it. They may answer and they may not, it is really hit and miss sometimes..if they don't answer, then send another one a week later and so on. Basically once your application gets down there, it sits in line to be reviewed and assigned to an officer. When the officer starts to process it you should get a change on your ECAS on the principal applicant's side to say that it is in process......this is hit and miss also. Some peoples don't go into process for awhile and then they next week they get a PPR. When the officer finally looks at the application they will go over it to determine your genuineness of your relationship, etc and if they need more info they will ask for it or they may at this time ask for an interview. Once again, been here over a year and only 2 people have gotten interview requests. After they are done the eligibility they will move onto the criminality and security part of your application and after that it is PPR request. Kingston is very hard to pin down on how long it takes, some people get thru faster then others and there is no rhyme nor reason to it.....we all just go with the flow and hope it is one of us sooner then later hahahaha Hope that helps!

Ditto! I send them an email every week now...it's the same one they have never responded to... ::) Clearly, it's not working in my favour!

This is my first time writing on here.. I was given this site after talking to one of my family member on my husbands side. I've been married for just over a year and doing long distance for 4 and I am waiting for my husband pardon to go through before we apply for sponsorship. Its difficult not having anyone to talk to that understands.. Getting time off work to go see him...The stress the feeling you go through.. And the idiotic questions your family members ask that they don't realize that makes you even more upset. And the ultimate " I don't know how you do it"... If anyone has any advice, if they have sponsored someone with a criminal record.. Any time expectancies.. Thanks for reading my little blurb. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to our little forum family, jennikaclarke! You've come to the right place for support, laughter, and to meet people who understand what it's like to go through this process. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the roller coaster ride!

im happy for you on getting some news

THank you! I hope its soon. My husband's bday is next week and I really wish I could go down I went for the last 2 but this year cant because of work :( I am really sad about that. Anyways I believe it worked out that way because I am going to see him sooner then later when he comes to Canada. fingers crossed. I dont think Kingston was too happy with my email I sent last week and they replied with a very straightforward no Sir/ Madam lol just 2 sentences.

Mr. XXXX' file is in a processing queue. Your patience would be appreciated.

Hey Samilanaire,

What are they asking for now? You sent so much information already...
