Did kingston ask him to get the prints in October or are you talking about the ones you submitted with the application. Those are two different ones.

was out for the afternoon and just seen the messages...
the prints we submitted in october were not requested but we were told by our consultant to go ahead and send them the background checks anyway ...he went and had them done in JA as soon as he returned and sent them in

do you know where he went to get these done? Just curious, I asked Charlie over a month ago if I should go ahead and try and get these done but I never got an answer from her so I am still wondering if we should go get this done ourselves or wait for Kingston, the old guide said we had to wait for Kingston but the new guide doesn't say anything at all.

looks like some movement in KG allready for a good start to the week!

I was excited for a moment when i heard back from my MP today who said :

"CIC ottowa advised that they are still waiting for a CIC officer to review and approve hubbys file. He will then deligate it to a manager for approval to proceed with the next step which is background checks.
this next stepis sometimes the delay in expediting because of the shortage of police and CSIS officers.
You are still under the timeline for processing so need to be patient.
308 MP's office assistants are all requesting information for their constituants and cic usually do their best to get back to us."

then realized... that email seems like nothing has been done on our application i guessing??

Well it's something, even if it feels like nothing! ;) Be happy your MP's office followed up with CIC for you, some are not helpful at all! And it's also some good insight to the steps they take in the process. Hang in there!

CIC Ottawa?

Which part of the process entails Ottawa reviewing the applicants file? I thought it was all done through Kingston?

my advise would be to get it done now as you are 10 months in and when i spoke to CIC on the phone today i asked about the rcmp checks and they said that KG visa office will do all that part themselves from the PC we sent in before we hear anything... and as you can see from my MPs reply the second step is background which is the longest part of the approval process once started
then CIC said they would request the RPRF fee after he was approved ...but that if i sent it in now that that would only save me more time in the long run

I will find out where he did them

I was confused by that aswell...i think she asked ottowa and not kingston to review the notes
i am going to ask her that tomorrow tho ...she dosent seem to think i have waited long enough as she is dealing with people from egypt and syria that have been waiting years apparently with more urgent situation or something she said on our first call
dont think she really wanted to help as i was only 7 months into the process.

My hubby already done his police checks in August and that included fingerprints and that all went back into them with the application.

I had a woman too and she wouldn't help me at all.....so be thankful you got the help......halfmoons wouldn't help her either but yes it is weird that she went thru Ottawa CIC but they can look at the GSMS notes/FOSS etc to see where it stands and I would assume they see the same as Kingston.

I know she didnt want too at first..but she went ahead anyway and she was right...too soon to know anything

thats good so..probably they doing the rcmp part now for yours from KG and then you will hear from them soon enough

i think the applications with denied refugee status previous to their return to JA will be the ones with the longest waits as they must review more background information for them and see if thats why we got married and all that

I believe the MPs office contacts Mississagua or Ottawa, and not Kingston.

The MPs office more than likely (mine did) looks at the date your file was sent to Kingston as to the length of time your application has been in process per say. So in their minds it would be from August not June. ::)
