She can request it from the Registrar General's Department, smokijoe. She does not need to be in Jamaica, they take requests online. Here is the link to the site: http://www.rgd.gov.jm/?q=applications

The link tells her what information is needed from her.

I believe it is J$750 (Cdn $10 or so) for the actual certificate, and there will be a fee for sending it abroad as well. (Fee will probably be more than the actual cost, haha!).

You have snow CharlieD??? Tell me is it colder with snow on the ground than when there's not? Like I was there in November of 2009 and we had 8 degree weather and it wasn't bad at all but when I came back home we had 50 degree weather and it was freezing (we had a lot of wind though).

Can't wait to make snow angels!!!! :P

Haha, to be honest, I just know it's cold right now. I can vaguely remember being in NY and it was freezing with bone-chilling wind chills in the -50 *F range, but there wasn't much snow on the ground at that time. It was just arctic air carried on the jet stream passing through, once the arctic air had passed it snowed about 2ft. The high for today is supposed to be about 7 *C so I am guessing the snow might continue, if the temp gets much higher it will all turn to water (and freeze up overnight when the temp falls again). For now it's still accumulating.

yeah, holidays change so often in Jamaica but its normally the 15th or the 16th each year.

It's always the third Monday in October. Usually that ranges from around the 15th to the 22nd, depending on how the month starts. I have a friend who was born on National Heroes' Day when it was the 18th, and his parents actually coined "Nathero" as one of his middle names! :)

Wow! Bone chillin huh... Nice! Well nice for us who have never experienced it. It was about that temp when I was there but we didn't have any wind so it felt nice.. Niagara was cold but because it was windy and rainy..

NOW THAT I AGREE WITH!! They shouldn't get holidays until they finished their work, just like how we couldn't go out to play until all our homework was finished back in the day :P
