I Flagpoled today at the Peace Arch/Blaine border

We parked on the Canadian side of the border and my husband waited in the car for me while I walked down to the US border. I was directed inside where a very nice IO (who was Jamaican!) crossed my visa out in my passport and gave me a white sheet of paper, on which he had written ‘FLAGPOLE’ (and some other stuff I really did not pay much attention to). He directed me back to the Canadian side of the border.

On the Canadian side an IO took my passport asked me if all statements were true as per the COPR, then told me to have a seat while she processed my documents.

She called me back to her desk in approx 5 minutes… said “welcome to Canada”…gave me a leaflet with information needed to settle in Canada, and a lapel pin. She told me I now have the same rights as a Canadian citizen; only I cannot vote. She also said I should go ahead and apply for my SIN.

She said I should receive my PR card in the mail in 6-8 weeks!

The processing of my documents took approximately 10 minutes

YAY….DONE!!!!

Happy thanksgiving everyone, haven't been on lately, had something happ to us on thursday where I had to call 911 so its been pretty scary and stressful the last few days. I hope my fellow canadians are enjoying this gorgeous long weekend. I can't believe how warm it is out, I love it!!! Anyways enjoy the rest of your day everyone!!!

Well 4 years ago today my lil princess was born. I can't believe our babygirl is growing so fast. She had a great party yesterday. Today I'm going to pack a picnic and we are gonna go to the beach since it'll be nice out and play in the sand (not the water, to cold) she's been wanting to do this since last week so that's our plans.

I hope everyone enjoys their day and if kgn is open hopefully some calls will be made!!!

I suspect it's not a holiday today because next week Monday is a holiday as well. Two back to back long weekends might be a bit much this time of year, considering they are right about now assessing how far they have come with meeting 2011 targets, and (knowing KG!) realising that if they take anymore time off they have no hopes of justifying their budget next year when what they have accomplished this year is reviewed. :
