Hi everyone,

Just want to share some news. My husband is here in Toronto on vacation for a few weeks until our anniversary. We met up with some friends recently, some of which went through the sponsorship process. They all (3 of them) assured us, once their file went to Kingston they received PPRF request appx. three months after. I know we haven't seen much updates here, but this gave me a bit of hope and hopefully it does for you too. They are people outside of this thread who rec'ved some sort of request, but we just don't know about it. So let's hope and pray to see some updates here shortly too.

Umm im not so sure about that. My friend sent in her application last April and didnt get through until March of this year. (In March was when they called her husband to bring his passport in. Then it took them an additional month and a half to give it back with the visa. So the entire process takes anywhere from 11-13 months

Right? goah i wish that was the case. The only person who i know that got through within 5 months was my cousin and thats because our next door neighbor in Jamaica was an officer there and she pretty much push through everything for him back in 2013. Unfortunately she passed away that same year so ahe cant do anything for me

How long ago they immigrated?

Two of the fellas came up different times last year, and the other around February of this year.

They are suppose to give you an original copy for you to include with the application. It will have his picture and such and will state if he is found in their criminal system. On my husbands copy with was like "such and such does not appear in oour criminal system". Even if they tell him that , tell him to tell them he wants a copy for his records

Thank you everyone for replying! I knew that wasn't right! Thanks again. Im hoping that the waiting time for processing PR is not as long as they state on the website. its not easy for sure.

The wait time currently is 11-13 months so around 6 months shorter than what is stated on the CIC website. It is definitely not easy but it will be worth it in the end.

It's not, he should go back ASAP and request a copy maybe the person who told him that was misinformed, if it's taking to long you can always send the app off while waiting for he PC and as soon as your approve to sponsor and have your application number send it off at least that way you're not wasting time the process is already long enough.

well mine was paid upfront from application was filed and 9 month since kvo started my papers so i think they would ask for more info already or a interview i guess up next ppr :)

Seems the 11 month mark has gone to 13 months or so? :( maybe its just me thinking this way, but it seems like most people are getting through and landing within 13 months… Man I hope for some PPR soon ... Some people before were landing by 10/11 month marks :( seems to be more now

kingston.immigration@international.gc.ca include UCI and app # or through case specific enquiry.
