Im am currently in the process of applying for visitor visa extension in order to meet common law spousal sponsorship.
Has anyone made this request and had been successful?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

If you are applying for a visitors visa extension I Dont think its a good idea to tell them its to live with or stay with your common law spouse. Common law sponsorship applications are harder to get approved than spousal sponsorship. If you want to stay its best if you two get married and then do inland application . you have to have a lot more proof with common law sponsorship applications.Try giving them another reason for the extension like christening or some family functions. I have been doing my research by reading the forum and speaking to immigration lawyers and thats the answer I got and what is being done.. I have to be living with my spouse for 1 year to qualify (that is also stated on CIC website) as such extending for that reason is what I will have to say.

When i asked for my husbands medical to be extended i sent email and they answered back it was received and granted

I emailed them and they told me a request was made and my medical was extended until next year november. the 1st medical isnt expired until january 15 2016

There was such a good stretch of good news for a while, but a really big slow down lately. It's terrible but just think this will be the last Christmas apart. That's what I keep telling myself. Fingers crossed for some more good news ASAP.
