Hi everyone... Good Morning,

I have a question....... how long do they give you when they issue the PR visa to Canada...is it 6 months , 1 year...?

Roxie

My husband did his meds in Sept 2013, got his meds extended in Nov 2014 and on his visa it mentionned, expire date November 2015. So he would have until November 2015 to leave Jamaica.

Yes, and I know the meds got extended on November 20, 2014 cause I ordered my notes during this time and it was mentionned on it...and usually when they extend the meds its for 12 months. They extend meds when they are about to have 15 months old...so in my case it has been extended when the meds were 14 months old.

Oh and its not garanteed that they will extend it. If theres anything else missing in the file, they will probably request new meds instead of extend it. The reason why I ask my husband to redo PC when it was expired after 9 months + paid all fees from the beginning. So the file was in good order to be approved. And exactly what happened after 2 weeks, he got the call to send his passport!

Hey MelJam,

I so hope that this is what happens with our file too. They received our new PC in Trinidad last Thursday which I sent proactively before they had a chance to correspond with us about our application. Based on other people on this forum in Trinidad, it should be our turn anytime now. I guess they need to match our paper document (PC) to our file first. Hopefully the paper filing process is not too long. I also sent colored copies of our marriage certificate and my husband's birth certificate. We paid all fees up front so they should have everything that they need now..... Everyday I think we should hear something..... Please soon.... soon....

BTW, we used FedEx to send these papers to POS last week and the cost was only $4,200 JA. It seems less that what I have seen on here with DHL.

Anyways best wishes to all!

I think since ur file is in Trinidad u had to use Fedex cause DHL dont provide this service from Jamaica...our file was in Jamaica. When hubby sent the new PC he used Tara (a local courrier) and it was cheap like 300$ JMD and for the passport he used DHL and it was 900$ JMD per segment.

Hiiiiiii lovely people!!

Can I be updated on the spread sheet??

A bit of a weird case....got ppr twice. Nov 4th and March 19th. Submitted the passport on April 17th...decision made on April 28th.

Awaiting the return of the passport from Trinidad

I guess we share similar timelines, I think mine was a couple months longer :( Thankfully it all worked out for you and me!

Thats odd, why did they ask for it twice? is it because you didnt hand it in in Nov that they asked again in March?

I dont find you on the spreadsheet so I will add you....but what I dont understand is, why you did not send the passport in November ?? Maybe it is the only reason why they requested it a second time no??

I looked to your info, we having the same timeline and my husband got PPR Dec 8th and hes now here in Canada for more than 4 months now.
