Quick question Chickie dear - through review of the spreadsheet, you've been in process since March 2013?

Do you have any idea why such a delay since they're technically processing it? Anything in the notes or MP can shed some light on.

My word..this process is definitely not cookie cutter...such a different journey for everyone. Keep strong hun!!!

*hugs*
no idea? I am stumped, my last set of notes say that everything is passed. My file is basically sitting on an officers desk waiting to go down to the visa department for them to ask for the passport but I am unsure why the hold up. it has been like that since november. My MP will not help at all until I am passed the 22 months and she claims the 22 months is from the time it went to Kingston but when mine went to Kingston it was at 16 months so I asked why I am punished 6 more months when I have already been waiting 2 years, she didn't have a good answer for me. The only thing I noticed is there is no bring forward date on my file and that is what has me worried because from what I believe that bring forward date is kind of like a flag to them to go back to the file and it scares me to think that maybe my file is hanging in limbo somewhere? not sure but all in good time i guess....i have to keep my belief or i will go crazy LMAO my poor hubby gets the brunt of the entire thing when I lose my marbles but it is a good thing he understands me! He just says "i don't pay you no mind, your a madwoman" LMAO

Don't send him an invite and tell them you plan to get married. That is for sure a denial right there. If she's in a relationship with him, its a denial as well unless he has ties to canada. Ties as in family ties. The minute you use the world relationship or marriage in a visa application for visit, you got problems. He will have to have 1) Ties to Canada be that whether it is family or property ownership 2) At least $10,000 Canadian in funds and 3) Something tying him back to Jamaica to give him reason to return. If he can't meet those 3 conditions, you are best not to apply as you risk losing $150 US for the application. That is my two cents. If they really are serious, she should go to Jamaica and get married. Hope she has kept all the records for correspondence since they starting dating. Once they are married, she should return to Canada and file for sponsorship for his immigration to Canada.

One other thing. If you have all the required paper work and proof, be sure that when you buy his airline ticket, that it is round trip. Make sure to submit the proof of purchase for the flight on the particular airline and include the itinerary along with your application for the visa. Thus, when you apply for a visa, make sure that the flight is at least 2-3 months away so that it gives you up to 4-6 weeks for the paper work to be returned to him. I would also recommend cancellation insurance for the flight as a safety net in the event the visa gets denied regardless of the papers you submit. It has happened to me and purchasing cancellation insurance got me back almost $900 that we would have lost as a result. Cancellation insurance should cost around $80 or so.

Congrats to everyone on movement
