OK thank you everyone. Well our application has been in for over a year. My husband was just asking and I told him I would look into it and if its a extra cost that we cant really do right now.

Don't agree there buddy if your case is complicated and you need links then a lawyer is the best resolution I know from experience. My husband had warrants out for his arrest if the lawyer didn't go with him to turn himself into immigration they would of locked him up. I also had his flight booked so that also let him be a bit free. That's the only reason why we hired a lawyer to get him out of the country and not face a deportation ban for life. He got a 1 year exclusion order which is a bit better.
If you have warrants for your arrest, you got bigger problems. Which brings me back to the whole lawyer thing about scrutinizing your application because if I was an immigration officer, thats exactly what I would be doing if a lawyer is involved in the filing. Again, my own opinion. You don't have to like it.

I can see why your going through sponsorship twice. Hopefully this marriage works out for you. Your wife sure has her hands full with you. Boy oh boy talk about bad mind or negativity. Glad you don't work in immigration there would sure be a lot of denials. I will make a special prayer for you tonight you sure need a blessing. This forum is to support one another and uplift spirits not tear one apart.

I never said there would be denials. All I said is that the application would be scrutinized more = more attention to detail, which equates to longer processing time. Not sure where you got that from me where I would deny everyone that uses a lawyer as I never said it would be denied. Just because an application is scrutinized, doesn't mean it would be denied. Hopefully this person doesn't have warrants for DUI as that is an offence and in-admissible to Canada. You may require extra paper work through the process, so I can see a need for a lawyer in that case. As for your other comment about the hands full, don't worry about that. I am very nice in person, but I do speak the facts and truth. Even when the truth is sometimes not pretty. We all have to face reality at some point in time. Someone stated that they are doing their studies in law, good for you. I used to be in law enforcement and then decided on a career change. You don't have to take my advice literally. As I have said before, its my own opinion, harsh or not. Its reality.

As for the previous wife, she cheated on me 2x, 1x before the wedding, 1x in our first year when in the midst of processing our immigration paper work. Then after, was verbally abusive and didn't care much in the relationship. So don't judge a book by its cover. Because it was I that divorced. What kind of a mother yells to her 2 year old while he's crying for daddy in the shower '%name% stop crying, daddy doesn't love you'
