Our application was received July 31, 2013. Approved to be a sponsor sometime late August. Application was sent to Sydney, Australia in September and mid October was when they started processing. Decision was made roughly on October 19 (or so).

When will we receive a letter (he is here in Canada on a visitor visa and we will cross the border when the confirmation eventually comes through)?

3 months is incredible! Picking my jaw up off the ground now! :)

has anyone ever watched boarder security Canada? my co worker watched one the other night and said that there was this guy coming from Jamaica into Toronto and they sent him back to Jamaica because he has booked his ticket 3 days before and they wanted to know why he booked his ticket only 3 days before and not longer.

she said that on that show they are very hard on Jamaicans :(

poor guy! all I could think was if my hubby got the PP back I would be booking him on the next flight out but after hearing that I might want to wait for a week or so. I bet his wife was waiting on the other side of those doors waiting. I cant believe that.

Also I was going to ask about due dates. When a due date is coming up shouldn't my ecas change to "in process" because either they are going to request something from us or PPR? its just a few days away and we haven't heard anything from Kingston yet. Oct 28th and then another due date on NOv 3

We should not be shocked by this timeline. This should be the norm...

The way we are treated and the amount of time we are forced to wait in the dark is what is truly disturbing...

Unfortunately, no it does not mean that you go to 'in process'...

Plenty of people have been waiting over a year and are still not 'in process' according to GCMS notes and ecas...

Jerks! lol ok thanks. But they still should be getting a hold of my husband by then?

I watch the show its one of my favourites trust me it happens it happened to a friend of a friend of mine he basically went for a plane ride. A guy my husband knows here went to visit Trinidad and was turned away apparently they don't like Jamaicans much.

no that is not the way it goes.....when they get your app they put a due date of one year on it.......technically they should be looking at your app by then but that does not mean they are, it doesnt not mean they will contact your husband either......they will only contact him if they need something from him (when they look at the app) everyone has a due date of one year on their app........some have never heard anything from Kingston. That is just the way that Kingston rolls LOL

No, not necessarily but hopefully. If the due date was an indication that they contact the applicant then that would have happened for everyone at the one year mark.

Sit back, relax, and continue to enjoy the ride.... ::)
