Yes now you see what I'm saying and the decision made never got onto my file until June 12, 2013 Lafayette I am confused
yes that is about all i can say to tell him to check his email and regular mail for a letter from them if that is what it says on the ECAS (that a letter was sent out) sorry we can't be of more help but never seen anything like this before. Or email Kingston and ask them what it is about, tell them no letter has been received. they say they sent it Dec 12 but you have never received anything.

Hey. I would like to add the countdown to my profile, how do I do this??

Good evening :) Just popping in to see how everyone is and if anyone has gotten any news yet !! Im hoping and praying for you all who have been waiting so long :-* :-* I booked my flight to JA on Friday in 3 weeks I will get to be with the Hubster cant wait !!!!

Just a heads up, i got this from my MP who "tried"to do an inquiry for me, do they say, anyways this is what Kingston responded : “Please be advised that our office cannot provide you with an update regarding any temporary resident/study permit/work permit/Permanent Resident application at this time. Our office is experiencing delays in processing due to a strike action. We are unable to provide estimates on how long our processing times will be."

That's a surprising response since kgn VO didn't appear on strike action list! Surely the delays are noticeable
and we know there had to be a reason! Trust that this will be cleared up soon so that persons especially those waiting for so long can hear some good news once and for all.

Sounds like a generic reply to me. The MP's deal with countries and probably have been getting a lot of requests. Kingston is not on the strike list. It is all over in Asia and India with a few more over there.

Yea, it sounded generic to me.. hence the "tried" in quotes... it's just some BS they are feeding me to try and get me to stop bugging them... to bad for them it just makes me want to bug them more ;)

I do believe that even though Kingston is not part of the strike, they would still post a message like this to government officials. It is the government they are fighting right now so even though they are still answering our emails they won't respond to inquiries by other government officials. We as applicants are all caught in the backfire of this strike but like everything else, it has to end, for our sake hopefully sooner then later and look on the bright side.....at least our VO is still working, albeit slowly but still working the same way.......other VO's are completely shut down except for administrative duties.

Hope you have a great flight! I'll be traveling down around the same time so i'm praying for nice weather! When i'm getting ready to see the hubby it always seems like time just drags on for the last 2 weeks so i'm hoping this month will pass by fast and before i know it i'll be back in beautiful st. elizabeth :)

Hey guys,

I'm doing a paper on the ethical aspects of the Foreign Service Strike and was doing some research and couldnt help but giggle at an article I read, so i thought i would share! Tim Edwards, head of the the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers says "Across the board, the backlog is growing five per cent per week. At more than half of the 51 foreign visa application centres, the processing times are exceeding the immigration department's 14-day target"

14-day target?? or 14-month target?? If the target was implemented I think we would be one happy forum and we would all have some amazing landing stories to share with each other!

here's to wishing ;)

Hi all,

Just came across this message board and thought I may get some help here. I am Canadian and my husband is Jamaican, were got married in Jan 2013 and applied for Spousal Sponsorship in March 2013. I have been approved on the Canadian side of things and his application has been sent to Kingston from my understanding for approval for the Permanent Residency portion. We are now pregnant with our first baby and he has still not been approved. I am 3 months pregnant and we are hoping he will at least be here for the birth. Does anyone know how long approximately this process takes for sponsorship.

- Application received March 27
- Sponsorship approved on April 19
- Awaiting approval for permanent residency

Any help, please let me know, he does not want to miss the birth of his child.

Thank you,
Krys
