Hi
I have spent the last few hours reading the forum and I wish I found this before I applied. It's nice to be able to relate to all the stories and emotions felt. My husbands status on ECAS Application received February 11, 2013 and medicals recieved. I am happy to be apart of the this group and excited to hear some more landing stories.

agreed.....next to impossible to get a TRV unless he has LOTS of money in the bank and it has to have been there for a while, you can't just go put it in there.......a home paid for in JA, a very good job in JA as these are all reasons that he will have to come back to Jamaica so it shows proof that he will come back......based on experience from other forum members most are denied as they feel the spouse will not return due to the fact that their spouse is in Canada....if you are denied while he is in Canada, then it is more then likely he won't come back to JA (just an example of why) :( sorry

I don't think they care about ties in JA like house; car and money in the bank because hubby proves that each time. Once you have a spouse in Canada; to them you won't return and they automatically deny the application; based on my experience and we have tried 3 times.

Welcome to all the newbies; congratulations on starting your journey or in the process of doing so.

All the best to you all; and as other members have said; this forum does offer support and advise on the application process.

Hey Stacyr320 was reading your post about the hour long interrogation at person lol not to worry I think at one point or another we all go through that . I was red flagged in the sysyem because I was making so many trips out there I used to go every long weekend. At one point I was detained the customs officer tore through all my luggage and then asked me tell him what I did from the morning I woke up till I reached the airpprt lol if anyone know me they could just tell the detailed description I have the officer lol I told him well I woke up and the first thing I did was ride my hubbys cock for half hour .....lol needless to say 2 min into my explanation he cut me off and told me I was free to go

LMAO@ ready...I had the same problem...every time I would go to Jamaica to see my husband they would give me a hard time..I had security in Jamaica stop me before check in asking me " why would a single white lady be traveling to Jamaica all by her self?" I had told them I was visiting my husband and my step children...when I returned to Canada they must have sent some type of warning to Pearson letting them now how much times I have traveled to Jamaica by myself..before leaving out of Jamaica I had a couple wray and nephews..not feeling any pain I might add, and a few friends who are Rasta's were blazin....I must have got some smoke in my closes because the customs dog was all over me...he came to sniff me sat down to alert the officer..I was "wholly SH&*!!!!! They wrote in red on my customs card and I thought I was all done until I walked through the final set of doors...WRONG...they told me I had to step aside they needed to go thru my luggage and other personal items...I told them that was cool I had nothing to hide but a scandal bag with dirty panties that were just rinsed out not time to actually WASH them..LOL Anyways they swabbed my sunglasses, wedding rings, suitcase, cell phone EVERYTHING I felt violated...come to next stage and they asked me if I could step in a room so the could do a CAVITY search..UM I dont F'n think so...and then changed my mind..I'm like sure do the cavity search but let me tell you something, if you dont find anything you will have a lawsuit slapped all over yourself so quick your head will spin!!!...After that comment they told me I was free to go...Now here's a funny thought...could you immagine our Jamaican wives or husbands letting customs pat them down or wanting to look up they're batty holes??...They MUST get some more security for that!!!!!!!....lmao

Lmao the same thing happened to me on my way home from my wedding. I was on my way home from Jamaica I arrived in Toronto Pearson airport and when I got to customs they asked me why I travel to Jamaica so much, I told them that I had just got married two weeks before and I had been traveling to Jamaica because my boyfriend now husband lived there. So he proceeded to ask me for proof that I got married, so in my luggage I had my papers that the pastor give me after we got married. I gave it to him and he believes me that I got married and then he proceeded to ask me how I had money to travel to Jamaica every three or four months. A single girl like me shouldn't have money like that to travel back and forth so often. To make a long story short they then proceeded to tell me that they have to search my luggage do so I agreed I let them search my luggage but before he opened it up I warned him back my friends had been in Jamaica with me and we had a bachelorette party and I have a big black dildo in my bag because I was very very Embarrassed, lol they give it to me for my bachelorette party, " it was for when I was lonely for mine, lolin Jamaica" The old officer looked at me and said don't worry dear I see these things all the time. I was so embarrassed but I laughed and laughed and laughed and it made a bad situation a lot funnier at the time. After he searched my stuff and found nothing they left me on my way after all of the searching and questioning in interrogating they finally let me go I just about missed my plane.

Hello everyone. FYI I had my MP's office look into the strike... this is what they told me today.

Hi "Mrs Brown",

We hope you're well and that you had a nice weekend.

We just wanted to follow-up with you regarding your inquiry with respect to whether the Kingston visa office has been affected by the strike action. We heard back from David's contacts this morning and they informed us that of the 15 missions affected, Kingston, Jamaica is not one of the affected offices at this time.

We hope this information is helpful.

so thats great news for all of us... not so great for our brothers and sisters at different missions...
