That Cuban man is so very wicked. Three days! Wow. He had it all planned prior to arriving Canada. I can imagine how that poor woman feels. That's so very sad!

Very sad especially because she had her heart totally open to this man.

I think whether the 18 months starts at time of sponsorship approval or when it reaches the foreign visa office, you can + or - 2 weeks for the transfer time. For me, I never knew the actual date my file reached KG so I just started counting from the sponsor approval date of June 26 and added two weeks. I think it makes a little more sense to count from when it reaches the foreign office because nothing can be done while the file is in transit.


EDIT: Chickie, I believe you are technically right because if you go to the processing times at CIC, it also states the time in stage 1 and stage 2 are consecutive (current 55 days + 18 months for Jamaica) which means the 18 months starts immediately after you are approved at stage 1.

Dear Sir

This application was received in Kingston on 26 June 2012. Applicants can check the status of their case on the CIC website by clicking on Client Application Status.

Following an initial review, this application was queued for interview and is currently awaiting its turn for scheduling, based on the date it was received. Interviews are normally conducted at the Canadian High Commission in Kingston. Once an interview date is scheduled, the applicant will receive an appointment/interview letter approximately four to six weeks before interview.

Processing times are calculated from the date the application is approved by Case Processing Centre Mississauga, after which it is sent to the visa office for further processing. For individual cases, actual processing times may vary depending on the complexity of the application and the number of new applications received by the visa office.

PS. So now i know what is going on for my application........Have anyone spouse done an interview at kingston

Don't feel down Maddants (not saying you are but IF you are), there have been many others who have had to do interviews and got through successfully very quick afterwards.

Key is not to get down but get focused and start gathering as much evidence as possible. This includes demonstrating the continuing of your relationship.

im not down sis......this is just my stepping stone that in my way for me to get to where i wanna be.....God gave me this for a reason and i know he will guide me thru this path

Not to be fass Maddants but do you have any idea why they would request an interview? Did u marry quick, age diff? Just asking for my own knowledge.

hey tin tin.......it could be any of that........my wife is 54 and im 37, we met on a dating site "Blackplanet"and when she came to jamaica we got married the first time she was here.....but since the she been back to jamaica twice and planning on coming down sometimes in may if i still here in jamaica......so it could be anything

He mailed it by DHL same day he got the call on Jan. 28 but there was a slight delay in delivery. We're hoping for it to be mailed out tomorrow or early next week. The waiting is dreadful isn't it?
