Hey there, you want to ask for the electronic files as this is what will give you an idea of where you are in the process. The physical files are a copy of the entire application that you sent to CIC Mississauga. This takes time from your process as someone in Kingston has to physically phototcopy everything in your file (don't quote me on this one but that is what I heard) I would be afraid my application wouldn't get put back where it was supposed to if I did that lol. Hope that helps you!

Chickie72,

Sorry one more question. The Electronic option only gives you three choices: "Immigation File: Temporary Residence", "Immigration File: Permanent Residence", "Citizenship File"

Just to make sure, I would be selecting the second choice "Immigration File" Permanent Residence". I just want to clarify cause the Physical option gives you the choice of "Sponsorship"

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Maddants. I thought as much. As it relates to employment history, how do you think they verify that as I don't see them calling employers to disclose your business so I figure they confirm with the tax office.
yes i think the same way too......but every sponsors suppose to show proof of there income.....meaning a job letter from there employer or if the dont have job they better have alot of money in the bank for sure.....lol........but i think it the tax office they check for sure

Chickie72,

Happy Belated anniversary to you and your better half! Dont worry you will have many many many + to celerbrate together.

My mother is amazing she has been a real asset to our relationship. Without her assistance a lot of the extra financial cost that are associated with a long distance relationship would not be possible. I also have to give a shout out to my Dad...last Valentines Day and Hubby's Birthday (both Feb.) were courtesy of him :D

Ok so I am trying to redo the spreadsheet a bit and I am all about dates...If possible can you please give me updates on the following if you don't mind (if you don't wish to share, that is all good too) Thank you. here is what I am looking for.

1. The date you got sponsor approval from Mississauga
2. The date your ECAS changed to in process, if not in process then just what it does say.
3. The date you got PPR
4 The month you landed

I know everyones application is different but sometimes it is good to get a basic idea of how long things took for others that have gone or are going thru this.

Thanks again.

Hello LDL

Please know that my response is not meant as an attack on you. I just did not like it!!! I am sure others do and certainly don't wish to dim any switches. I am just a bit protective of my brothers because some of the stereotype are unfortunatedly taken as truth to those who do not know. My brothers for years have had to endure disrespect in the form of jokes, and depending of their circumstance have had to laugh out loud which dying inside because of been the brunt of such jokes. I feel sorry for the writer who feels he can find funny in his slave name..good for him. I am sure he also makes a great oppressors aide. Perhaps he has decided to use "jokes" to help him heal those unheal parts of himself. His slave name is Glen?, wow! A Rastaman who celebrates his great great granddads marginalization, and violation? I have the phone number of a good barber, I am glad to pass it along. Hey, the beauty of this forum is to share, question, provoke etc. Its all good!

Frankfield, I didn't take it as an attack at all. Like I said everyone sees things differently. But, I think you misunderstood me. The writes name is not Glen. I am saying I have a friend, who's parents named him Glen. He is a rasta and he never uses that name because it is his "slave name" I am just saying that it reminded me of him... so it was not meant to be disrespectful as I would not want to disrespect my friend, and do not mean to put down "rastaman" bahhhhaaaaa. Anyhow, he wouldn't shave his locks for all the money in the world, so no need to pass along the barbers number.

I agree. My family is very supportive. They were supportive before they met hubby, but after meeting him they are over the top suportive. My dad and I don't have the greatest relationship but all of this has brought us closer. I think he likes my husband more than he likes me, but i'm okay with that. haa

when you log onto your ECAS what does it say there?
