I am hoping that it is here by the time I file....so well see if the CRA is faster sending something than CIC is answering our PPR request for our husbands!!!!!

Option C is a copy of your last Notice of Assessment for the most recent tax year. You can call CRA at 1-800-959-8281 and request it to be sent to you for free. Takes a couple to a few weeks to get to you. On the check list it says you need to submit it with your Sponsor papers and if you do not provide the print out you need to explain why.

That is right. When I requested mine, they said by 10 business days and I recall I received it under that. Keep in mind it is RSP season for the folks at CRA so their office looks like how the forum did today. A gong show. So you may just receive it on the mark (10 business days).

There is pertinent info on the Option C that the Notice of Assessment doesn't provide.

I said it above but will mention it here:

Marital Status
Money Owing to Social Assistance (if applicable)
Number of Dependents and their info

Very key pieces of info in other words less investigating for CIC.

Thanks for getting us back on Padna Cee!!

You may contact CRA to obtain an original copy. CIC requires that you mail in an ORIGINAL copy of it HOWEVER if you do not mail this in, you would need to provide an explanation. I would recommend sending it in as it provides detailed information on (see my note above) and could delay your processing in both stages.

Here is the link to the application checklist of required documents:

There isn't one for spouses... You just have to convince the officer that you can support yourselves.

To sponsor a spouse and one dependent child there isn't an income requirement however if you are not employed or self employed, you would have to provide an explanation as to how you will provide the necessities for your family.
