Hey zovkalove, welcome and stick and stay, please. Unfortunately, at this stage, yes, that is the most you can do. The decision on this thing is out of our hands, and we can only wait. I try to encourage "active waiting", meaning you stay busy with the regular business of life while Immigration do what they do.

If your husband is doing this out of obligation, perhaps you guys first need to address that. You may feel that way, but maybe it's a perception. Honest communication is the bedrock of a relationship, there is no substitute for it. Regardless of what happens, being open and honest with each other will make sure you both know where you stand and will be better equipped to know where you want to go from here.

Still hoping for the best for you, whatever that should be.

Thanks for the congrats all!! I've really enjoyed reading all the replies to my past post...lots of insight. It was interesting to me Charlie D and Suki...to hear about some Jamaicans wanting to live in the country. I guess that it really depends on the person. I'd say on average there would be more against it than for it..I could be wrong...but I can only speak from our experience...we feel cut off from the world!! But then again..we are literally in the country...not even a small town!! I can still hear hubby on the phone " My YUTE THE NEAREST NEIGHBOUR A MILE A WAY ENUH"!! Like this was a world wonder DWL!! It really depends on the person...and their preferences. But I still feel..and again I could be wrong...that more Jamaicans would struggle with country or small town life verses those that dont..but there are so many factors unique to the indaviduel that would affect this!

I love hearing updates...and hope more of us come back and share a bit about the adjustment period. I'm telling you...I wish I had known a bit more about what to expect..for both our sakes. Would have taken alot of the unknown out of it and made us more prepared!!

Congrats to those with new updates...and soon to lands...best of luck to all and congrats to all the other expecting mammas!

Yes, SQ, it really is an individual thing and any of us can only speak to our own experiences. Blanket statements tend to be easily disproved by human beings due to our individuality. You are both young, entering a new and exciting phase in your lives, you might be happier surrounded by others at a similar time in their own lives, where you can more easily share your experiences on a personal basis. That's totally normal, I think. Coming from Jamaica where you are used to having everyone close by, it can be quite a shock to the system to be so far from your closest neighbour.

On the other hand, I've had quite enough of living on top of other people, and want a home and a yard and just fewer people than you find in a typical big city. I'm not quite anti-social, but if you had to ask my family, they'd be the first to tell you I prefer my space even when surrounded by family and there is plenty of it where I'm going, so I honestly could not be happier. A house, a yard, a couple dogs, a small town with a slower pace of life surrounded by plenty of nature...I might think I've died and gone to heaven, haha.

I know you are extremely frusterated right now, and although you may be having doubts about your husbands feelings about visiting, it may be just exactly what you need.Going through this process is so hard and especially when we don't have our loved ones with us. So maybe spending some time with hubs will help. I have gone 98 days without seeing my hubby right now and it is starting to really get to me... it will give you time to speak face to face and address your concerns as well. Let him comfort you if you need it as well. My hopes are with you xx

To all the rest of the Fam - Bless up! How's everyone? I have had a crazy work week... I work in a hospital, and go figure, the weather get nice and everyone get sick like mad! I have put in almost 40 hours since this Monday, and still have another 40 to go til Sunday ugh! I just tell myself that if I wasn't workin so much, I would have chewed my fingers off with stress lol. Still no updates here, but I am keepin the faith!

@ relax... Early Happy Birthday for Monday. I will be sleepin off my night shifts that day so might not be on til evening.

Hey hey, Jamgirl! Sounds like you have your hands full! Careful not to work yourself to the bone and find yourself among your patients! I think a change in weather usually brings some illness with it, I know I have been struggling recently with my own asthma now that the weather here has shifted from sometimes cool/sometimes warm to always hot. I am doing my best not to catch any colds or other bronchial infections like I did last year, too much on my plate just now! Stay healthy, and hang in there!

yes seasonal allergies are bad right now too. Mine is not allergies but is definitely respiratory. I plan to sleep lots tonight and tomo... ( I dont care if that means my house will be messy lol). Best part of my week are my kids... I have 3 boys, ages 14, 10, and 21 months... let me tell you, we have some funny moments in my house. Here is one I HAVE to share...

So my 14 year old son is sick with congestion. He asks me to buy him a "Neti Pot". I go to the pharmacy to find out what it is and learn that it is a small tea pot equipped with a nozzle that allows you to stick it in your nostril and then "flush" out your nasal cavity with saline through the opposite nostril. I opted not to buy it right at that moment. When I got home, he asked me if I had bought it, and I told him I had not, so he continued to try his own method. He filled a small plastic cup with warm water and poured some salt in it. I went to watch him in the bathroom cause I thought I would get a good laugh at this water spilling all over his face, only to find out he had found a useful applicator in place of the Neti Pot.... MY TURKEY BASTER! LOL

Also some other great moments this week was my 21 month old saying some new words... Up until last month he said the basics "mom", "daddy", "baba" (bottle), etc... well the other day he asked for his bottle (now a sippie cup) and when I gave it to him he said "Chang Chu" (Thank you) lol so cute!!

Love my kids! Truly, they are getting me through this time...

Bahahaha @ the turkey baster substitution. Well, necessity is the mother of invention!

Little ones are cute when they are learning to speak. It becomes alarming when you realize they hear everything. I cannot forget my 3 year old niece proudly informing my mother that a friend of her mother's did not come to work because he was "dwunk" (drunk). Needless to say, my SIL learned to be careful of her phone conversations after that, LOL!

got a call from mp this after noon that the io sent out a letter may 2 for us to redo meds and police
so we are almost done!!!! and that there was positive feed back from our interview.


im sooo happy this is coming to a end !!!
