Hello Guys,

The series of event which followed after Buffalo Canadian embassy office closure has put me in jeopardy. I dont want to take chance of applying my study visa through mail as my last experience on TRV through mail was not good.

Can anyone give me some direction here on - in person application process at New York Consulate ? I am a bit confused after reading instructions on their website. It talks about drop box - Do we need to drop the application once we reach there ? Is that the meaning of in person or do we get a chance to present our file before a official representative ?

Also any idea about same day or next day service ?

I have written an email to them but haven't heard yet.

Appreciate your time on this.

NY Consulate has stopped Same day Service - The best they do is day after for Visitor Visa.

For Study and work permit, the ideal way to apply is via MAIL... unless you have a valid urgent case, they would not honor acceptance in person. Again, it may take 30 days = normal mail processing times even if you apply in person for Student and Work permit. Hope this help.

Hi, I got an admission from a university in Canada and also my CAQ and I went to New York to drop off my files to obtain the study permit and also my student visa since June 14 2012 but I never received an answer from the embassy. In their website, normally it supposed to take 30 days. I sent many emails to them but no answer. I don't know what else to do since I booked my flight for august 13...
Can somebody help me please?
