Hi, I came to Canada 2006, and I became a permanent resident in January 2008 (ten years ago, wow!)
I got married to my current husband in 2009, we had a daughter 2010 and then we left Canada for the US 2011.

I was a few weeks short of being able to apply for citizenship, and since we were leaving I didn't bother.

No we're looking at moving back. We've since had two more kids, both born in the US, and they both have Canadian citizenship.

I remember talking to someone at immigration about coming back in the future, and she said something about me having Canadian children and husband it wouldn't be a problem. I was happy with that and moved on with my life.

I tried calling today, and they just said they had a high call volume and I could try some other time.

Would I have to go through the process again?
My husband doesn't even live in Canada this time around, so how could he sponsor me?
Is there another way to re-gain PR status?

So many questions, and I don't even know where to start if we want to move back.

Well, unless you formally renounced or had your PR status revoked by the government, you are still a permanent resident. And if your husband is a Canadian citizen, you don't have to worry about the residency obligation, provided you have been living together. The hardest thing, if this is the case, will be documenting the days you were together or apart for the past 5 years. You will also need proof you were living together (bank statements, leases, insurance policies etc.
In short, no need to sponsor you again....you're already a PR.
