My partner (sponsor) just received an email acknowledging that the IRCC has received our application, which is great news, but now we want to link our paper application to an online account. So my understanding is that we need to create an account, and I'm wondering who should set this up- should it be the sponsor and all their details, or should it be the principle applicant and all their details?
 
The details you enter when actually linking the application are the principal applicant's details, but it does not matter if the account itself belongs to the PA or the sponsor.
 
When I linked my OWP application, under the 'View the Applications you have submitted' section, my application is listed under Application Type as 'Online Application'... nothing like Work Permit or something similar, does anyone else have their OWP listed like this online?
