I used the sticky address labels that you mentioned. It made more sense because that meant less effort for them than using one written on regular paper. Asked for 'address labels' at a nearby stationery store and the guy got me the right ones. Maybe it's a familiar term to them.
For the reply from Sydney, like in Rupesh's case, they weren't used. The reply was on printed sheets of paper within a window envelope. So, the chances are either they use the address labels for a subsequent stage or for returns/refusals (scary!).

I supposed that mine and Charmeuse's letter were sent with the window because letters written in english will reach the destination in both our countries.
I am trying to find a country where english addresses may not reach the destination, somewhere like siberia for example.
How does it work in Saudi? I wonder if they have a list of countries where they send the letters with english addresses and some countries where they don't.
