Hi everybody. I have a question about the 3rd question on Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008).

Indicate the total number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself and any family members, regardless of whether they intend to accompany you to Canada or not.

I have no kids or dependents what so ever. However, do I count my wife/sponsor and say "2" or just "1".

Easy question but seemed tricky to me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Your wife is not considered a family member for the purposes of this application and is not included in that question.

What has made you want to apply inland instead of outland? Outland is generally the better option for most people.

Thank you.

well, i am on a owp and it`s gonna expire in may 2017. in case it`s not resolved until then i may have to leave the country which i really can`t afford to do as we are in the process of making a baby. i better stay safe and wait, than experience something unfortunate. also, it seems like the government enhanced the process a bit and make it faster. so... fingers crossed. hopefully in a couple days i`ll submit my application.

you don't have to leave the country when your OWP expires. you can simply apply to change your status to visitor and extend your stay if your work permit isn't extendable. PR applicants are rarely denied extension requests and generally are approved for 12+ month extensions. depending on where you are from, you can more than likely get approved as an outland PR before May 2017. for most outland applicants, the process ranges from 6-12 months. applicants from certain areas are getting approved in 3-5 months. i'd recommend considering outland as well. outland applicants can be IN canada as a worker, student or visitor while their application processes.

Thanks for the insight. I`ll think about it.
