They should reply to you soon regarding next steps. As for the oath rescheduling, it can take anywhere from a couple weeks to 6+ months. Let us know when they respond.

That sounds reasonable. However, to be safe, you should reply to the oath email and confirm that all you need to do regarding your kids is to show their PR cards. I think I saw someone in this forum mention that you need to show 2 pieces of ID for each child even under age 14, but the instructions say only their PR cards are needed.
I emailed IRCC and they confirmed the children under 14 don't have to attend. They said I need to have 2 pieces of ID (for each child), one of them being the PR card.
For the second ID (for each child) I have the non-photo provincial health card. Any idea if it's ok the second ID does not have a photo ?

That sounds like the same ID requirements for adults (two pieces of ID, one of which must have photo and signature - although kids might be exempt from the signature requirement). Since they say that PR card can be used for one of them, if the second piece is Canadian federal, provincial or territorial issued ID, and PR card has photo, I'm guessing the non-photo provincial health card should be fine. But you should double check back with them to be sure.

Congrats! Yes, you get certificate right after the oath in an in-person oath. Wish I had the option of an in-person oath as I'm still waiting to receive my certificate.

You had to wait 10 months after your test was completed for the next step? Jesus… meanwhile a person who applied in June of this year already got their oath scheduled. So unfair and frustrating…

It's not unheard of, I've been waiting for almost 8 months now. And looking at the tracker, there's a bunch of us in the same drifting boat with nothing but hope the tides will eventually bring us home. No paddles, no whistle, no bell, no flares. Only waiting...

Hi All,

I am a June 14th paper applicant. My last status update was Jan 6th - citizenship test completed.

Today, on 23rd Sept, all things except Citizenship ceremony is showing completed. Does this mean oath invitation will happen soon now? I am in US and will need to plan travel.

Has anyone had luck with doing oath from outside the country?

Thanks,
Vishal

Oath cannot be done outside the country. Max you can do is reschedule it, if you are not able to make it.

Congratulations on the progress! The silver lining from this is that in some cases they do not put people’s applications on hold indefinitely if you are outside Canada.

Congrats on the progress after such a long wait! You should plan on coming back for the oath. While there have been a couple exceptional cases of taking oath from outside Canada, they are really exceptional, like someone stuck in the warzone in Ukraine and unable to come back. If you took the test from inside Canada and did not inform IRCC that you have moved, then you are lucky and will likely get an oath invite soon and should plan on coming back for the oath. Many people who took the test from outside or are otherwise known or perceived by IRCC to be outside face delays until they inform IRCC that they have come back.

Yes it did get resolved... Scarborough office
  • Request for Expedited Certificate - 9 Sep 2022
  • Scarborough Office replied - 10 Sep 2022 (yeah they did reply on Sat), saying
    • Thank you for your email. There are about 5 weeks between your ceremony date and your expected travel. That is enough time to receive your certificate and get your Canadian passport. If you send us your signed oath form right after the ceremony within the regular business hours, we will issue your certificate the same day and mail it to you the following day. You can receive your certificate in about one week. Please make sure that we have your current mailing address on your file.
  • Oath - 13 Sep 2022 (Clerk acknowledged the above receipt of the request and said as soon as Oath is finish just email the signed Oath form and they will send the certificates the next day by post, I did ask them if I can collect the next day from the office instead, they said No)
  • Certificate Received - 16 Sep 2022
  • Passport Applied - 19 Sep 2022 (walk-in, non expedited processing)
  • Passport Collection (Scheduled) - 5 Oct 2022

I have taken an interview with the IRCC officer on 22nd of September as I took the citizenship test outside of Canada. They required explanation on why I am out of the country and on my trips while I was in Canada.

They have told that my file looks good and I will receive the oath ceremony invite in the next weeks. Next day everything was completed on the online tracker except Citizenship Ceremony - not started. (see the signature)

Is there an average time between the invitation and the oath ceremony? I am trying to figure out how much time I will have, to plan my travel to Canada.
