So sorry for you two. You should just cancel your rep and let CIC know of this. If CIC still has your file they should be able to process if you cancel your rep and go it on your own. Seniors in this forum can offer great help.

I would cancel the rep and do it yourselves.

Totally agree with previous suggestions. I still dont get why ppl use third party in this process. Nobody would be that interested in the application except yourself. And this forum is extremely helpful in preparing the app all by yourself. So go ahead and re-apply! Good luck! :)

Not always, if you're using someone referred by your friends then you're in good hands. Most of my friends used lawyers and it worked wonders for them:) Of course a lawyer can't really speed up the process but embassy looks at such cases as straightforward cases and based on experience of my friends it's been good:)

But in Lookfast's case, yes I think you're better off doing it yourself and you shouldn't have had a representative from another country, as I know they must be from Canada.

Lookfast: I don't think you need to reapply, since CIC already has your completed app and has sent you an AOR, right? I would think that you only need to officially cancel your rep (following CIC's guidelines) and they should be able to proceed with processing your app.

my point was mostly about the financial side :) ...I guess its not a small sum (however I do not have exact numbers). So cant get why would someone pay money for something he/she can do all by himself/herself..thats all.

P.S. I am pretty sure it would worked wonders for them as well if they do it all by themselves + a bonus=saved money :) :) :)

All I wanted to say that it does worth having a trustworthy lawyer but it's not easy to find a good one:) Yes, it's a bit pricey but in my opinion it's worth it because everything is done on point and you have a legal representative so your case won't have any problems. But again it's very individual and up to a person to decide whether to do it yourself or through a representative. I'm just talking about my own experience and my friends, so people know that having a lawyer works:)

As promised, I went to see my lawyer yesterday. To be honest she didn't tell me anything new but did clarify a few of my personal questions.
It appears that it's still unknown which VO has our case:( Because it was supposed to go to Warsaw, but they decided it should go to Ankara and that's what says on my SA letter. However, my lawyer didn't receive AOR2 which would prove which VO we have. ECAS shows that VO started processing our case on August 2nd and she assured me it means everything has started. So the only way for me to find out is to wait for a document request (it will come because we need to send 1 more document).
The bad thing is she said Ankara is slower than Warsaw and they tend to call you for an interview more often than Warsaw. But of course we should hope for the best because it all depends on the officer.

Also, my friend is doing it through Ankara as well and they are still waiting for any news:( He applied back in December 2015 and their process started in February 2016.

Thanks for the update. I have seen a few applicants processed through Ankara since late 2015 who have received PPR in 4-6 months and no interview. :)

They are very lucky!:)))

I pray that it will be the same amount of time for us!

Oh one more thing, they do tend to make mistakes, my friend's wife received a letter for an interview but the next day they said it was a mistake and not intended for her lol

Is your friend's wife Azerbaijani?
