Hi guys so nothing had hear from cic since last 4 days for SA!! Also today no update on cic website as I generally heard that cic updates on every tuesday....

CIC offices were closed yesterday, and emails are not sent on weekends. it was a 3 day weeknd in ontario, so it's not surprising not much has happened...

it is also very common for the website to not be updated every week. unfortunately, it's not seen as a priority for cic.

Thinking ahead a bit but ...

Questions about passport requests:

I found different answers for this after searching. For those from visa exempt countries, it appears a passport scan is all that is required (for the majority of cases, of course there may be exceptions).

I was wondering what was 'actually' required: (1) single page scan of the passport page containing just your photo? or (2) scan of every single page of your passport including the photo page?

I could understand the need for (2) but I don't know why they would need (1) as it was already sent in the application. Does anyone know?

:D

it depends on the visa office. some require every page, some require just the bio data page. Most of the recent applicants have only needed to send in the bio page. it is less common to send in every page.

it is confirm the information is still the same and the passport is still valid. ie: married wife changes name mid-process or passport will expire soon

I am a Canadian Citizen applying for my US husband. Submitted the applications on June 9, 2014 - rec'd June 10, 2014. Sponsor was approved today August 5, 2014. Medicals have been received also, they were done back in February. We are being refunded money we paid for children that are not coming to Canada.

The scary thing is the NY processing times says "30 months"...

US citizens are NOT processed in LA. US applications are processed in OTTAWA. ONLY applications with issues will be sent to LA. If an application goes to LA, then an interview is requested. For a majority of US applicants, the interview is waived and the application is processed in ottawa. Currently 2014 applicants are landing in 4-6 months. Some US May applicants are already getting decision made.

Medicals were submitted with application and shows received on the ECAS

AGAIN... US applications are processed in OTTAWA. NY does not even process family class pr sponsorships anymore. The only visa office that handles family class sponsorships is LA, and again, files ONLY go there if there are concerns with the applicant.
