Good thing i found this forum from the internet because I have a lot of questions about spousal sponsorship. Before I lay all my questions on the table I just want to give some background about us for my questions later. Currently I am a Filipino worker here in Saudi Arabia since April 2012 and my wife is working and living in Canada since March 2010 (we already know each other during our college years back in 2004 and became a couple in 2009 for those who might wonder) and she got her PR last January of this year. Both of us went back home to the Philippines last May to get married. After our marriage and honeymoon we came back to our respective country of work to continue our jobs (me in Saudi she in Canada) back there. My wife is sponsoring me and already gathered all the necessary documents we need while we're in the Philippines (except for the Police Clearance I need to acquire since I've been working and living here in Saudi Arabia for the past two years according to my wife) and submitted it to the Mississauga VO this month. Now my questions are as follows:
1. How long does the whole process usually takes upon receiving the applications?
2. Since I am not a citizen of this country can we choose the Philippines as my local VO?
3. In connection to question no. 2, do I really need to have a police clearance from Saudi Arabia even if I'm just a worker here? And if I really need to how long will it take for me to have one?
4. In my application I used my company's address here as my current address since I am working offshore, will it have any problems in the processing of my application?
Thank you in advance for answering my questions, both me and my wife are clueless about this spousal sponsorship, we just followed what is said on the guidelines and checklist from cic.gc.ca but I feel we need to have some ideas from the people who is also undergoing the same sponsorship category.
