Does anyone know if CIC fully stopped due to the strike?

Hey JustMarried81,

I am a July applicant but I am just looking to see how far the June and May applicants have gotten.
I just finished Stage 1 and hoping Stage 2 goes smoothly and fast. CIC isn't completely on strike, they are still processing but its become really really slow in major areas like China, India, London, etc. I don't know if your VO is slowing down too or not so you might be lucky and not be as affected as some of us already are. Have you checked online with your UCI or application #?

Some here in forum received their ppr while having a strike so i think it just really slows down the processing of our application but not totally stopped. Goodluck to everyone. :)

Disappointment

when i got SA letter they told me my application was sent to Tel-aviv embassy , i was happy for that because the processing time for tel-aviv just 9 months, i contacted tel-aviv office to pay RPRF , and i did it then i email the receipt to them, after 2 days, the replay to me,
(( Your application appears to be processed in Cairo. Please email the document to the Cairo immigration office. ))

i am so depressed for that, firstly, the situations in Egypt is very bad and There was frequent closures of the embassy in the last period,

Not to mention that the processing time its take along time, its may up to 18 months

OMG, I cant beleive that !!!

:(

thank you Bro for support :(

When i filed the application , i put cairo office, i think this is according to a current residential place
because i live in Gaza strip Palestine, but when i got the SA approval they told me avout Tel-aviv office (( This visa office was selected based on your relative's home address and the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. ))

so i was very happy for that , but !!!!!! I got a shock

Now i get it... is Cairo also affected by the strike? if I'm also in your situation now I will feel that I will wait twice my expectation because the processing time in Cairo is longer than Tel-Aviv but for me it is much better that you're informed early that it was transferred in another VO rather than you don't have any idea at all. We have to wait and also pray that they will process it on the right time and also the strike will end soon :) Godbless mosaab... :)

I feel for you too Mosaab. Unfortunately, I don't know how you can check if Cairo is on strike or not. God is great and I really hope the processing time will be less than estimated. Take for example Los Angeles. It says it takes 22 months!! but I heard people who got it in 9 months. So just keep the faith and I am sure things will be as they are supposed to. Praying for you.

The strike is taking place in visa processing centers at 15 embassies and consulates in Paris, London, Moscow, Mexico City, Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Ankara, Beijing, Delhi, Chandigarh, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Manila and Sao Paulo.

the processing time for Cairo office in the normal circumstances is 18 months ,
so , no problem when it become 23 months due to strike effect !

:)

Maybe you should consider even longer processing times, seeing that, in the last months, the VO is often closed because of the situation in Egypt.

Any PPR's guys?

Getting lil worried now....No update on E-cas, no PPR....shouldnt we be hearing something by now?! :'(

And yeah...a may applicant from nairobi got his visa yesterday and their process time in 25 months! :O

CIC...a real enigma!! :/
