I just called the CIC and the agent told me that one has to wait 6 months after passing the test and the immigration officers at the Scarborough town centre said 2 months

Hi batoum,

I applied in July 2013 and my file is still in Sydney and yet to transfer to the Edmonton office. Currently, our office in interviewing applicants applied between May to June of 2012, so I hope it will not be a long wait.

Do you know if your file has been transferred and when?

I have no idea about the status of my application. All I know that it is on process! (online). Is anyone from Edmonton office get his citezenship for less than 1 year of process from 2013 applicants.

Finally took my exam and was handed the OATH letter right after (Mississauga office)

Here is my timeline:


We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on June 10, 2013.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on June 10, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on August 28, 2013

Fingerprint Request Jan 27, 2014

Fingerprint Done Jan 28, 2014

RCMP done and sent back to CIC Jan 29, 2014

CIC received Feb 6, 2014

Test Notice May 12 to appear on May 29 2014

Oath for June 12 2014

I passed my test on May 5 in Scarborough. I just called CIC and the agent told me that the next step if all is well would be the ceremony and she said my application is in process.

Thanks Fadz! I am ok waiting. I have to go to US and to my home country. I have a 10 year visa to US and no need for visa for my home country. So having a Canadian passport is not super urgent for me right now

Got the pink letter today. The oath will be on Canada Day, July 1st. Yay! Wish everyone to get their oath soon!!!
