I don't think having a spouse on the application makes a difference with timelines. This wait is driving me crazy! I can't believe it's taken this long! When will we get our good news? Also why was that June '12 applicant rejected?

Yes it does matter if you're not a single applicant. The more the number of people on the application, the more likely is the processing time depending upon the time it takes for the background verification of each of the applicants. This may not be true every time as some applicants who applied as a family with similar timelines got their MRs.

My status too is "Application Received" and I applied on June 8th.

I was wondering if higher NOCs are getting approved faster? I know cec is a pass fail process so it shouldn't matter. Also, is there differentiation in NOCs at the same level?

I think the processing is highly random. It roughly follows your initial application date, but could vary by two months or more. Some June applicants received ME back in January, yet most of us are still waiting.

In reference to your March 8, 2013 response, which states “Please note that no decision has been made in your file and it still in process.”, I would like to bring to your attention that there is an inconsistency between this response and the status update displayed on eCas. The recent update on eCas system states “A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.” Can you please help me understand the current status of my application?

For your convenience, below are the messages displayed on eCas about my application in chronological order:

· June 7, 2012: “We received your application for permanent residence”.

· February 21, 2013: “We started processing your application”.

· “A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision”.

Also, I was wondering about this, CIC recently made changes to the CEC. While before 37.5 hours was considered full time work experience, now only 30 hours and 12 months of skilled work experience are required. Are our applications going to be assessed according to this standard?
