I think you have to decide for yourself. One thing to consider though, every time you delay things, situaton can change.
Rules can change, etc.... that's what happened with those who delayed sponsoring their parents (after even getting their canadian citezenship) Now they cannot do it, since the program was stopped and is to be re-opened sometime this autumn.
So it is your decision. One thing is certain, you have to update CIC immediately when you formalize the marriage.

Thanks guys!

@ ganesh123 - I agree with you to the point that it can delay my own application, but if I sponsor spouse after getting my PR, it takes months and may be years for the spouse to get approval as the whole process will start from the scratch. So, isn't it better to delay the application for a couple of months now rather than wait for so long for the spouses' PR?

Hi bajgal

No, I did my medicals on 18th March. eMedicals were sent to CIC on 21st March ( as per DMP ). But i haven't heard from CIC yet and no status change in eCAS. Hope we will have some new next week at least.

Status changed to medical received around April 3rd and I got PPR right away. the doctor did not offer emedical service, however I paid $60 to ship my medical results express to Ottawa

Thanks for your reply Rosty.

So, express post is a good option really to hurry things up, if the DMP agrees. Folks who are awaiting MR should note this point!

I learned something new today :)

It really depends on the DMP, because some send express post by default. Although nowadays most DMPs should be doing eMedical so that's no longer relevant.
