I'm about to submit TRV application for my parents from india. Does anyone know how once application is submitted, does VFS give you a time slot automatically for submitting biometrics or can we book the appointment ourselves ?

Submit through your IRCC account, after they'll send a biometrics instruction letter, use it to book an appointment at VFS

Application Submitted: June 29th, 2023
Client Application Summary Uploaded: July 2nd, 2023
Biometrics from Previous Application updated on: July 2nd, 2023
Background Verification: In Progress
Eligibility Started: July 11th, 2023
Applied through new IRCC Portal

I applied in early March, only my background is in progress but eligibility not started yet my travel dates are near

How long does eligibility check take place its been 1 month since last update. Applied from canada parents are in India. So basically Indian Office.

I applied for my mother's visit visa on July 14. She already had biometrics from a previous expired visa. I got the eligibility completed on July 19. Only background is in progress. What should I expect and how soon?

I am looking for much needed advice on below query

I am planning to apply for visitor visa application for my brother from India. There are two portal which gives us the option to apply for visitor visa .

Old Gckey portal :-

Advantages :-
More option to upload all the supporting documents
Larger file upload size limit ( 4mb )
I have read somewhere in this forum that visa application success rate is higher.

Disadvantage
Read somewhere that processing time is unlimited . People waited for 7 months to get initial response which is not seen if they apply from new IRCC portal.

New IRCC portal

Advantages :-
Read somewhere that processing time is faster
Filling of the application is faster

Disadvantages
Not have option to upload all the document as there are less fields and file upload size is 2 mb . This not enough to upload all the supporting document
It is based on Artificial intelligence so , visa decision is based more on software rather than human.

Please suggest which one I use.
