Hi Members,

I just have a question regarding Minor's application.
Shall I apply under Canadian citizenship - Minors (under 18 years of age) under subsection 5(2) for my child or under Canadian citizenship - Minors (under 18 years of age) under subsection 5(1) ?
Under section 5(2) its not mandatory for minor to complete 1095 days where as in Subsection 5(1) the child is being assessed independently after completion of 1095 days.
Does this have any long term impact on the citizenship of the child or not??? I mean Limit to citizenship by descent [subsection 3(3) up to first generation only?

Thanks.

Canadian citizenship - Minors (under 18 years of age) under subsection 5(2) is for minors who apply along with their parent/guardian. While Canadian citizenship - Minors (under 18 years of age) under subsection 5(1) is used for standalone applications for minors (residency requirements will have to be met for these applications). As far as I know, there is no long term impact on the child as a citizen though second generations rules might apply to your child's grandchildren.

Haven't got a test invitation yet...Fingerprint request finished last year in Dec and confirmed passed... So three months still in the process...Can't get hold of CIC agent, always high volume and not even offer a queue waiting...

Hello moderators,
I did my test today and passed it 18/20. At today's interview I was given my notice to attend the Oath Ceremony which is tomorrow, 4th March.

I did check the ECAS to see if there were any updates but it still shows "In Process", but I do not think this will matter anymore.

Congrats!

Did they ask for passport stamps translation?

Thanks
