Did my landing today, the process was simple and quick.

ITA: June 25, 2018
AOR: July 24, 2018
Medical Passed: August 14, 2018
Additional document requested: Nov. 15, 2018
Documents submitted: Nov. 21, 2018
Background check initiated: Nov. 15, 2018
Called agent on December 14to get an update on my application as I had received a job offer. Agent informed me that eligibility and criminality passed and that the additional documents were accepted and ok and that my security check was still going on. She also informed me that everything looked good and to just hang on. Got request for passport December 18, 2018
Passport sent: December 20, 2018
Passport received by Ottawa: Dec. 24, 2018
Passport returned to me on January 10, 2019
Sent an email to the email address provided on the 11th January and got a reply on January 15, 2018 with appointment date for January 30, 2018.

All you guys waiting to hear from IRCC, just keep the faith, it will come. It was a long process for me. I was in the pool since 2016 thought about giving up many times but was encouraged by others to just hold on. So I am telling you the same, and I will keep you in my prayers.

I am now a Canadian Permanent Resident

Finally got my PPR today. July 4 AOR. Country of Citizenship - India. Country of Residence - USA.

I received a response from CSE yesterday, security not yet initiated, it's more than 6 months. This wait is totally sucking. If they start security, how long does it take. Any idea??


The background verifications are currently valid for criminality and have not been initiated for security yet. The medical examination results on file are valid for you, your spouse and dependent child.

Does anyone know if the CBSA consent form is the same than the one for GCMS (using getgcms)? I am just wondering if I can use the same than the one I sent 2 weeks ago for GCMS

Well it depends, for some it takes 1 day and for others few weeks. When I asked the agent on the phone he told me they cannot give a timeline at all for completion of security

Correct, 1,5 month more or less but I guess my case is not that straightforward, that's why it is taking so long. You have been in IP2 since September, sounds crazy that security has not been initiated yet. I see many people receiving PPR only few days after IP2. I wish I can understand why for many it does not start before months, especially when eligibility is met

@tobs Can the eligibility passed status change after that ? Because my eligibility passed file transferred to my local VO.

If It's already passed, it won't change but if it's recommended passed or Met it may go back to "not started" at LVO and aftrr sometime be passed.

Hi Sandhya,
I raised cse today, I also tried calling but it was not successfull. Yes I think I should apply for gcms notes.

They are very quick on replying on the CSE so you will get an update soon! I raised one on Monday and got a response yesterday saying final decision has been made and they will contact soon, waiting eagerly now.

Until 20th Jan my Review of additional documents was We do not need additional documents. Then got ADR on 21st Jan, submitted the document on 23rd Jan. Now it shows Review of additional documents: Not applicable. What does it mean?
Can any one help to clarify.

If it was negative they won't give you that response you'll have received a refusal letter.

it means your ADR has been received. It's a good sign of progress.
