There is no flagpoling option any more. You have to get all the way out of Canada to the US. Means, you need US visa and land on your way back (possibly within 5 minutes or so. No need to sped entire day in the US). If you have no US visa you need to make an appointment to land in your local CIC office.
Are you saying that there is no flagpoling option on Rainbow bridge or in general ? An applicant on this forum successfully landed on peace bridge couple of days ago.

Also, is there a CIC link or something indicating this ?

Hello everyone,

Sorry I was too late to join this group. Below is the information, please update the sheet.

NOC: 5241
Application Filled: 2013-07-11
AOR: 2013-09-11
Med Request: 2014-02-24
Med Received: 2014-03-10
Status: In progress (Waiting for PPR)

I heard that some of the June applicants have already landed. Just 9 months, which is much faster than I expected.

Can anyone tell me what is the next step after the PPR?
Did you get the RPRF/Biodata request ? If not, you'll get that before PPR. After PPR, you just wait for CIC to send your passports back with an Immigration Visa and CoPR. Then you do your landing either at the airport or at US/Canada border and become a PR. Wait for another 1-2 months for your PR card to arrive in the mail, then done.

Is it necessary to print RPRF receipt, fill it with your details, scan it and send to CPCO-Cost-Recovery@cic.gc.ca? Or sending original (empty) PDF with all your case identity in the body is enough?

That's a bad news :( This will add a lot of unnecessary time to land.

In this scenario what will be faster ? applying for a US VISA or to get an appointment at CIC office ?
In my opinion applying for a US visa and landing after crossing the border will be faster. As CEC_NLD pointed out it takes about a week to get the US visa -from the time you submit the application to the time getting your passport back. I appeared for the US visa interview at the Calgary consulate, took 2 days to get an appointment and just 1 business day to get the passport back after the interview.

Yes buddy, the things have been changed. Many people now had to get back from the border without landing.

Hello Montrealppl:

May be you can try to travelling to near by Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon territory which is under France although this territory is close by Nova scotia

Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon

For stays up to 90 days per six-months period

Canadians and foreigners with a Canadian identity document arriving directly from Canada do not require a passport or visa to enter Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon for stays up to 90 days. They must present valid official photo identification such as a citizenship card, a permanent resident card, a driver’s licence, a student card or a passport.

However, airlines have the right to refuse boarding to any passenger if they are not satisfied with the validity of the travel documents presented, regardless of the country’s immigration entry rules. In order to avoid delays and other problems you should obtain a Canadian passport before initiating international travel and carry it for all visits outside Canada.

Is this good option guys? For those who don't have US visa?
