I was not too happy about their service when I landed.
They were holding a different standard in treating people.
When I was there in a line. An officer basically picked me and asked me to go first instead of another girl who is obviously ahead of me. I did not say anything because I was nervous and just wanted to get it over with..but I felt bad for her. They are not supposed to be picking who they service.

The only reason given was rules have changed and anybody who is not landing from US and resides in Canada should land by taking an appointment by calling CIC.

At Rainbow bridge, they even had a big poster with the number for CIC to call. Even at Peace bridge, they said u have to leave Canada to be able to land at Port of Entry.
The immigration officer landed over a yellow slip to me and said i made a u-turn and did not enter US.

On the positive side, they asked if i had US visa and suggested to enter US pick a coffe at Starbucks and land back (the coffe thing was to mention the least time i would spend in US).

Cheers, anyways,,,,,,,, PR visa and CoPR has come, thats enough for now. I will book an appointment with CIC and let you all know.
Sorry to hear that but that was bs of theirs. I have a us visa and they just left me turned back. no buying coffee necessary. I hate how people are treated differently. Good luck landing in future.

Hi Montrealappl, how did you turn around without getting an admis refusal ? Did you turn around before reaching the US border ?

YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE USA Side.
.......

People cheat and take u-turn so they don't have to leave Canada, CBSA officers used to allow this, but it seems now they will not anymore. Do us ALL a favor and get out of Canada and Enter again as a Permanent Resident.

If you guys keep taking u-turn, they will eventually shut down landing at border for future applicants. Then we ALL will have to wait for months for appointment.

Hello everyone,

Sorry I was too late to join this group. Below is the information, please update the sheet.

NOC: 5241
Application Filled: 2013-07-11
AOR: 2013-09-11
Med Request: 2014-02-24
Med Received: 2014-03-10
Status: In progress (Waiting for PPR)

I heard that some of the June applicants have already landed. Just 9 months, which is much faster than I expected.

Can anyone tell me what is the next step after the PPR?

Do we have to send Medical expense receipt to CIC?

So u haven't did flagpoling at Rainbow bridge ?

There is no flagpoling option any more. You have to get all the way out of Canada to the US. Means, you need US visa and land on your way back (possibly within 5 minutes or so. No need to sped entire day in the US). If you have no US visa you need to make an appointment to land in your local CIC office.

That's a bad news :( This will add a lot of unnecessary time to land.

In this scenario what will be faster ? applying for a US VISA or to get an appointment at CIC office ?

It’s difficult to say. Don’t know how long it takes to get the US visa. If I were you, I would call the CIC office first and ask them when you could land there. After that deside which obtion will suit you better.

Generally its one week time to get the US VISA from Canada, but you need to take the appointment.

I applied for a US visa around 6 years ago, the only wait time was getting the appointment for the interview. I got the visa within 2 min and they mailed the passport back in 2 days.
