Well, I mailed my application off at Canada Post this afternoon, here in Vancouver. I missed the Priority Express deadline of 4pm, but I went with it anyway, so hopefully it'll get to Sydney NS before end of the week.

I just got an email from Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca titled 'Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (CEC)'

It mentions:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada under the Canadian Experience Class.

Upon review of the information you have provided, your application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulation 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).

Your application will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing.

Just to double-check with everyone, is this the Acknowledgment of Receipt I keep reading about (AOR)? And it apparently took 8 weeks, is this about average amongst July 2013 applicants, with the recent CIC strikes I read about?

And what's next in the typical timeline of things that happen after receiving this?

Yes it is AOR and congrates for clearing the first step....Now wait untill Aprl-May for MR. CIC website mentioned it is taking 1 year to process CEC application. When your app was received at CIC? please update your details at:

Not received my AOR

My application was received on July 5th and CC was charged on Aug 11th. I haven't received my AOR yet. The status on ECAS is "application received". I Emailed my concern to CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca but there was no response. I called up the call centre asking if my AOR has been dispatched/Emailed and they say that they don't have that information to share.

I'm not sure what do I have to do in this case?

Can some one guide me? Am I Emailing my concerns to a different Email Id?

The email is correct. They will take 20 business days to respond to an email.

My application was received on 26 July 2013 and received the AOR today 25 Sept. I sent my application in Sydney NS from Ontario. Now planning to apply for BOWP.

Application sent in July email reply mid September confirming application now completed and will be forwarded for processing. Not available to view in Ecas yet. Question is this email the AOR or they actually send one in the mail

Could you please update July'13 tracker with details for the benefit of others who are eagerly waiting so long ?

There are a lot of people like me who have to apply for BOWP as soon as we get AOR, your updates will give us sight of what is happening with respect to AOR receiving.
