It depends on which Airline you travel by. For example if you travel by British airways, you can spend 48 hours in London without paying anything extra. If you're travelling by Singapore Airline, you can spend 48 hours in Singapore. And so on. Some airlines let you spend 48 hours and some less or more. You got to talk to the airline and find that out. some airlines also arrange for a transit visa free of cost so you can go around the city.

I just checked my ECAS too, still no luck. Still shows " In process " and on clicking it shows " We received your application for Permanent Residency on August 19th "

hehe! i have checkin it all day long madhu. u know whts the best time of my day? its when i go home knowin tht i will be so busy at home tht i will not get chance to check my ecas. the only time when i dont have to care about it n leave it for the next day.
