Before the files are added to database the only people who would know if your fee has been processed or not , for that matter if you are application is counted in cap or not , are the guys at CSU ,they can be contacted at FSW-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca.

The call centre guys have access to limited information. Only after applications are added onto their systems can they be of some help. CIC call center is just like call center of any other company. They will not have information on dates of current completeness checks , ER or caps. What they do first is to identify you, check on their systems & if found just read out the information from the file. They will not know about things which are not punched in on the file.

Disclaimer: The above is just my view & understanding of the process. Others can have different view.

I have a question, my friend application status showing following...what does it mean?

We received your application for permanent residence on April 7, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on June 14, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We transferred your application to the London England office on June 23, 2010. The London England office may contact you.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the London England office. They are pending review.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

it has been about 5 months and visa office has not contacted him for anything...He sent email to VO london for adding his new born son into his immigration file, so they sent the following email:

In order to add the child to an application for permanent residence at this office, we require the following documents:

 processing fee for your child (if accompanying you to Canada)
 your child's birth certificate
 copy of your child's valid passport
 4 recent photographs of your child
 Updated IMM0008 Generic for yourself and updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” form for yourself and your spouse.

Your child must undergo a medical examination. We will send you the appropriate form upon receipt of the documents listed above.

Now what does it mean? His immigration is approved or what?

Yes it is. The reply always come from CIO sydney....id.

Dear spicey, that's very unfortunate.

Did you use regular mail or courier? COURIER
If courier, Which company's courier services did you use ? DHL
Were you provided Tracking number for your shipment? YES
Did you use the correct mailing address meant for courier?YES
Did they send you email confirming the delivery?YES
Did in your last email to CIO search you provided your tracking number, your scanned courier reciept & attached the courier delivery report ? SENT IT ON FRIDAY TO THEM

It's either courier company or CIO at fault, will have to find out who. Your application just can't vanish into thin air. It's CIO's fault because the application was received and signed for by Mike

You know God has plans for you to make you and not break you! Seek the Lord first and everything else will fall in place... Either he's giving you very clear signs not to move to Canada because He has better plans... Or it's a trying phase.. Hold onto your faith in prayer and ask Him to reveal His will to you... you're sure to get an answer!!CIC has replied to a number of people saying they cannot find their application and later these people have had credit card encashments... Wait a little.... Stay blessed! You are special!

Then what he should do? keep waiting or update his application? And VO london saying "We will send you the appropriate form upon receipt of the documents listed above".

Any advice/sugguestion what he should do now?

reading spicey's post makes me feel depressed..knowing that I cant do anything about it.

I know the feeling of waiting for a very long time..
what courier did you use? Fedex is the fastest and most reliable.. (I think)

just by reading your post,I can say that this news is a very devastating news.but keep the faith..Try to call CIC or the courier you used.

I started being active on this thread after my submission to CIC.I didn't even know that there were a strategy of beating the cap even before June 25..

the last update was on 10th Nov. 11, 12, 13 was a holiday and they worked on 14th and posted the update on 15th.
Essentially they would have posted an update for all the apps they saw on 14th only.

dear prapplicant, for 3131 the weekly update (5 working days) was at average of 35 to 40 applications, so say 40/5=8 applications per day, and now only 2 applications a day, which is 25% of before...

still we have to wait for more and more surprises by cio...
