Well, after much anxiety and some words of comfort from dear RKC, westpoint and alaindotcom, it came to a pleasant stop with my MR envelope lying on my bed ( delievered via Air collect ) at my house while I was out. It was a very welcoming feeling to open that and see my MR forms and a cover letter.

Thanks guys, you were right and I was anxious ( as thats what we all are ) and now smiling to have moved one step forward in the application process.

However, I have been asked to submit the NBI clearance while I had submitted the QCPD police certificate along with my application.

Alaindotcom / any other kind forum member from Manila : Can you please advise if an NBI clearance can be obtained from outside the Philippines as presently, I am out of the country for a few months. Or would it be that I will have to travel to Manila and get the NBI certificate. Heard that they have speed up the process and now one can get the certificate the same day of application ? , is that right ?

RKC : Any news on your MR ? Hope and wish the best for you dear.

Any help will be much appreciated.

The good: I got my NBI clearance within 2 hours.

The bad : It was a renewal (of a 3-yr old clearance) so it was fast. I am told new applications take longer. 7 months ago, when I renewed my clearance, new applicants took one whole day to get the clearance. I don't know how it is now. But I do know that you can apply and book an appointment online via www.nbi.gov.ph. You will get a QR code, and that will save you a lot of time.

The ugly: They will take your picture and fingerprints. So you have to be present.

Try to ask if there is a much simpler process for obtaining a clearance, hopefully, without the necessity of having to travel back to the Philippines. You can write to nbiclearance @ nbi.gov.ph. Copy the director if you want: director @ nbi.gov.ph. I hope they come back with a reply quickly. You can also try to call the NBI main office +63 2 5238231 to 38.

I just read posts replying to your queries. I think they provide more useful information. So I am withdrawing the advice above.

Finally submitted my application again this morning...wat to say these stupid DHL service...they refused to send the courier cz according to their knowledge postal code of N.S. is wrong..my GOD..they wasted my 1 hour only on this..then they said their computer is not recognizing the postal code so write down the adress manually...i dont know whether my package will reach on destination or not..really a stupid lady on counter......

How much he Paid. CAD it is 490.. But in INR how much. is it fixed or Day rate on which we are taking INR DD.

Finally submitted my application again this morning...wat to say these stupid DHL service...they refused to send the courier cz according to their knowledge postal code of N.S. is wrong..my GOD..they wasted my 1 hour only on this..then they said their computer is not recognizing the postal code so write down the adress manually...i dont know whether my package will reach on destination or not..really a stupid lady on counter...: @ ...

Hey friends I was trying to observe the trend of people getting interviews before MR.

Mostly it was a married couple without kids.

but out of all who were called up for interviews...what was the main reason they were called for ?

for Manila VO, my MI2 contemporaries who were called for interviews were those who are in common law relationship (or what we called as CLP), those whose work experience needs clarifications, and they were usually asked to produce proof of their relationship like joint bank acct, utility bills or properties showing both their names on it or any document to prove that such relationship existed long ago...those under clp and have children were required to produce birth certs showing name of parents, while for those whose work experienced were "in question" were asked to provide docs to prove the veracity of their claims...
