Hello dear all,

Did anyone in this forum find a job through Job Bank?

Any tips on how to find a job in general and in tech in particular using Job banks or so?

Thank you

Honestly, I don't think anyone has ever landed a job through Job Bank.

Job Bank is more of a requirement or formality to be completed to activate your Express Entry profile and enter the pool. As far as I remember, there is no case reported by an applicant where they were able to find a job via Job Bank. Also, please note that the alerts that you get/may get from Job Bank with regard to jobs matching your NOC will no way be close to what your actual NOC is. So the answer to your question is No.

If you are interested to look out for jobs, register on job sites, check out prospective company job postings on their websites , LinkedIn etc.

I never -personally- heard of anyone who got a job through the job bank, either.

JobBank is useless for actual job hunting.
My recommendations to you to facilitate a job search:

a) Indeed.ca is one of the most useful websites to find jobs within your field, in the area where you live
b) LinkedIn (make sure your profile and resume are updated to Canadian standards)
c) Workopolis has a rather extensive list of job postings, especially for some fields and industries
d) Monster Canada is a bit useless, but there are relevant and useful postings on there every now and then, and it can't hurt to make a profile
e) Local job boards and listings in newspapers
f) Networking with Canadians, so that you are made aware of several jobs that may never be advertised
g) Walk ins, especially for lower leveled, and survival, jobs
h) Local seminars for immigrants, which can help them find jobs

It's going to take a concerted, well organized effort to try and find a job in Canada, especially depending on your field, your credentials, and your country of origin. Make sure to take all the points listed above into account. Good luck.
