Guys, I came to Canada in Jan 2022 and left in Jan 2025. I did update them about my new US address to remain compliant. Are they delaying my citizenship application primarily because I left Canada after applying?

Interview completed on July 30th and finally scheduled for oath on 26th August :)

I have one doubt - if we have to change from in person to virtual, what's the general timeline shift?

Thank you

I'm in the same boat as you(completed 3 years and returned to US right after applying). I applied on Dec 12, 2024.

Mine is even more worrisome. Except Citizenship test completion, nothing else has moved.

Everything else is either "In Progress" or "Not Started".

It depends on your office; someone in this forum got invited to an in-person oath in Calgary ended up having a virtual oath just after a month from the original date. In my case, I got invited to an oath in Ottawa on June 5 of this year, and I haven't received any update.

Application Type - Family (2 adults)

Primary office: Vancouver
Secondary office: Sydney, NS
  • Jan 25, 2025: Application Filed
  • Feb 6, 2025: AOR
  • Mar 14, 2025: Citizenship test marked complete
LPP is in progress since then no update..
Looks like there are many under similar timeline..
just show ghost update..application updated today but nothing changed in the tracket...

hope something comes up this week

ah I got my hopes up for a second, but nothing. Same as before: Last updated 13 March 2025
Ghost update likely means the case officer updated your application in the backend. It might show up on the tracker portal within 48 hours, probably in the next sync cycle. Good luck! Your LPP is likely going to be marked as completed - hoping for the best.

I’ve noticed Saturdays tend to get more synced updates than other days, based on timelines posted here and on the spreadsheet.

Same here! I got ghost update today. When I called, I was told my LPP was completed. When I called two weeks ago, LPP was still in progress! The end is near!

I have a question, if you can please let me know. After your interview ,how many days took for the tracker update? because my sister has finished the online interview ( Before LPP ) on August 6th and everything went well, now she is waiting for the next update.

I had an interview on a Wednesday, and on the Saturday the tracker was updated for oath invite, so three days. My interviews was just on a wrong travel date I entered in the application, so it was easy to rectify and confirm. My background check, language skills, and test were completed well before the interview. So I think it just comes down to what they want to check at the interview, and what requirements you still have pending.
