What makes me nervous is that if you take a look at the columns and sort them, most (if not all) the applications from Vancouver have the LPP fields empty...
Ugh, that sucks! I wish they were clearing citizenship applications faster as it's easier than PR's. At least for me, applying for citizenship was way faster an easier. I should've applied last year T__T I regret my life decisions.

For what it's worth, I never find that spreadsheet to be particularly useful simply because I can't tell if fields are left blank because the applicant hasn't received any updates, or they just forgot to update or got too lazy to update (guilty as charged btw—I forgot to update my application on the PR tracking spreadsheet after a certain step, even though I did eventually add the info back in much later).

This is why I've been only keeping tabs on applications that at least finished LPP, for more accurate stats.

I'm not sure. I'm in this January 2025 thread because I submitted on Jan 30. If I were to only count from AOR, I would be a February applicant.

But here are the stats counting from AOR, calculated by ChatGPT based on 38 timelines:

LPP Completion Range:
  • Fastest: 48 days
  • Slowest: 161 days
  • Most common range: 105–135 days
  • Median: Around 120–125 days
Mine took 146 days from AOR

I was just looking on the Reddit mega thread. Most people seem to be getting oath in progress between one and three days after LPP completed there.

So, if that holds, those of us who got LPP this week might also get our oath date by the weekend.

Fingers crossed!

I fed ChatGPT 38 application timelines (last time I only had 15) from Dec and Jan that had LPP completed so far, and asked it to give me some stats:
Because you're sampling from more recent months, you're biasing the data by including only faster files (excluding all that haven't made it this far). To compare to a sample including slower files, you should go into files further back, ideally including ones that are past the estimated timeline, eg include at least some May-Dec 2024. (Still may be biased, but less so, and ignoring for time being that timelines have become longer since last fall)

[This is also related to your other comment about files that don't have data / not knowing if the applicants stopped updating or they are truly stalled]

I've been checking my husband and my own tracker, but today I tried to check my daughter's (she's 16) and I keep getting an error. I got her AOR to my email address, so I assume I would also get any other correspondence.

Starting to get really antsy about our application. Everyone else seems to be moving onto the next stage and we're just stuck.
I was able to create a tracker for my 16 yo, but the only things updated for her where prohibition and background, and we are all now citizens. Checking the tracker for minor is useless tbh :D. You'll get their oath invitation same time as yours, in your email address.

LLP to oath for me was 3 weeks.

“you're biasing the data by including only faster files (excluding all that haven't made it this far).”

Many of the application timelines I fed ChatGPT are not faster files, though. If you look at the graph below, you will see that my application is actually still moving at a normal pace, and there are files that moved slower than mine so far:

Your Position in the LPP Range (from Submission Date)

Days → 60 80 100 120 130 140 150 160 180

                                  ↑
                          Day 132 (You are here)

Legend:
- ----- = Full observed LPP range (63–177 days from submission)
- ===== = Most common LPP completion range (120–150 days)
- ↑ = Your current position

I'm not trying to conduct some statistical study here. The whole point of this exercise is to put things into perspective: objectively, how is my application progressing compared to other LPP-completed applications?

Often times, when I see other people getting LPP completed, it almost makes me feel like my application is delayed or moving slower than usual, but once I actually compare how many days from submission it took for them to get LPP completed, I would see that my application is still well within the normal wait times.

This comparison is inherently 'statistical', whether formal or not.

Objectively, you're comparing it to others that have completed LPP, and excluding consideration of those that haven't made it to LPP (i.e. those that are taking longer).

If you're happy with that comparison, fine of course - it's just a biased sample. It may even be a completely reasonable trade-off in terms of time/utility of doing extra research.

But we do see a fair bit of posting about 'my file is stuck / it's not moving as fast as those posting in the same month as mine' for recent months. Those posts are (consciously or not) ignoring that posts about progress for recent months are heavily biased to files that are moving more quickly 'than average', because the slower files aren't posting/aren't in the average yet (not showing up in the sample).
