I understand the wait for PR can be extremely anxiety-inducing because your status as a temporary resident might expire soon, but I'm just curious why you think you would go through breakdowns waiting for your citizenship grant? If you are already a PR, your status will no longer expire like pre-PR.

I don't know, i am a very emotional person. And I have a trip planned for October. I am stressing about that, I haven't even filled the information with my passport number because idk if I will have the Canadian passport by then or not. I like to plan ahead some things, and seeing that a lot of people, and even applicants from Feb are getting their oaths is stressing me more hahaha.

And just like that I suppose my Canadian immigrant journey is at an end. I took the oath and received my certificate of citizenship yesterday. I just need to apply for a passport next week.

Thanks for all the help and support over the past few months everyone and I hope those who are still waiting receive a positive outcome soon.

AOR 15th Jan, I saw a couple of people with same AOR got their LPP in this week but no update on mine. Its been 3 months now since the test was completed. I feel like even within Vancouver, my application is with the busiest officer.

My timeline

File for Citizenship: Jan 02
AOR: Jan 15
Background verification: Feb 12
Citizenship test scheduled: Feb 15
Took test: Feb 16
Citizenship test updated: Feb 19

Waiting for LPP. No updates since Feb 19.
Did you get your LPP? I have the same AOR date as you

Congratulations! I was just browsing those who applied early this year to see how long is the approval and found your post! We are applying this Saturday! :)

Are you not able to just travel with your current passport in October if needed?

I totally get you though; I've seen a couple of Feb applicants who already got an oath date, but different offices just move at different paces; mine's at Vancouver so I'm in the long haul unfortunately.

I just got LPP completed for me and my spouse.

Applied: 7 Jan
AOR: 20 Jan
Fingerprint request: 28 Feb (for me) only
Test scheduled: 13 Feb
Test completed: 5 Mar (spouse) 28 Feb (me)
BG completed: 13 Feb (spouse), 25 Mar (me)
LPP: 28 May

Good luck everyone!

In case this helps someone, I fed ChatGPT 15+ Dec and Jan application timelines I found online were LPP is completed, and this is what it told me:
  • LPP completions ranged from day 86 to day 164 from submission.
  • Most landed between day 100–140.
This helped curb my impatience because I'm only at day 119.
