That's plenty! It's an excuse to buy them a coffee, and cheaper than a notary.

Another thing: I think most people are kind of honoured to be guarantor/reference for people they know, esp if friends.
It is but because I need to travel approx. 6 weeks after the ceremony, I'm trying to avoid any unnecessary delays, even if they end up costing me a little more.

Normally I wouldn't be too fussed but it's just a timing thing on this occasion really.

how long it takes to receive the email for oath ceremony after LPP clears? I am now worried if it takes Vancouver office 3 months to do that as well... especially I am in GTA and they need to transfer me to a local office doing this?

Still waiting for LPP.

It looks like some of you are having movement already. Hoping for the same soon.

Not that it really MATTERS, but now that I've started the process, I just want it DONE.

I totally understand how it feels, specially I felt more frustrated when my friend who applied one month before me (Dec 2024 applicant) became a citizen last monday and picked up his passport yesterday afternoon but still I am waiting for LPP...
It is just a waiting game at this moment, and if your file is at Vancouver office, then... you know how it is...
Just distract yourself from this application and do something fun. It is spring time and weather is amazing, get out and go fishing, hiking, etc.

I'm launching a tech startup, so I got LOTS going on.

I'm just generally impatient!

I can't wait to FINALLY be done with all this. We arrived here as TFWs in 2012. Landed on June 21. Would be really nice if we have citizenship done before our 13 year anniversary!

I feel you. I just want to be done. I think this process is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. We might be the “lucky ones” If we look at number of new PRs.

2017: ~290,000
2018: ~320,000
2019: ~340,000
2020: ~180,000
2021: ~410,000
2022: ~440,000
2023: ~470,000
2024: ~480,000

Assuming most people apply for citizenship in 3ish years, IRCC has more applications coming in the following months than they have seen in a while.

True that and especially since most immigration in recent years has come from one or two countries who value a Canadian passport as a strong factor in their reasons to move here. Citizenship application ratios may be higher over the next few years than they have been in the past.

It seems like quite a few of us have been selected for oath ceremonies at the end of May. Are those most likely to be virtual ceremonies?

The only in-person oath ceremonies in the GTA seem to be at the Scarborough location these days and it looks like they're less frequent than those in KW and Ottawa.
